Review: Lean on Me by Roxie Rivera

Lean on Me Lean on Me by Roxie Rivera
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

So... if this had spoilers for book #3, this book should be labeled as book 3.1 instead of 2.2... because I didn't read the synopsis and just dived right in and got the spoiler.

It was alright. Nothing exciting happened.

It was nice to get the guy, the dads, perspective when they went to the doctor's. I'm curious if his final prediction turns out to be true.

Review: Dimitri by Roxie Rivera

Dimitri Dimitri by Roxie Rivera
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This pairing was obvious from the first book so I was excited to see how Dimitri and Benny final admitted their feelings for each other. And I enjoyed their story. They hooked up randomly and really fast from when they admitted their true feelings but I feel like once these Russians make up their minds that they love someone, they don't want to waste anytime.

I do have to say, Nikolai is the one Russian I'm really intrigued in. If he's not part of my box set, in going to have to buy his story because I need to know what has and what will happen.

I'm really enjoying this series and I'm excited for the next one!

Review: Hot And Bothered by Roxie Rivera

Hot And Bothered Hot And Bothered by Roxie Rivera
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

So this one has a bit of a spoiler for Book #2, but since I already predicted that would happen for those characters, it's no issue for me. Just to give anyone else a heads up. I loved seeing Ivan fight in the ring. Everyone fears him so much, but we never really get a glimpse of that Ivan until this short story, so I appreciated that. And, as always, the connection between Ivan and Erin is scorching as ever.

I love seeing Ivan go all protective over Erin. Makes my heart a flutter! Haha. But I knew that Erin would still have issues with her sisters problems, no matter how mean Ivan can get!

I liked seeing Ivan get frustrated with Erin about tidiness and just overall daily things that happen when two people first move in with each other. It makes them more human and relateable for the reader.

Review: Ivan by Roxie Rivera

Ivan Ivan by Roxie Rivera
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This was a quick and fun read. The relationship between Ivan and Erin moved REALLY fast, but this is a short book with not a lot of build-up for backstory. Plus the lifestyle they find themselves in is pretty fast paced as well, so having weeks go by wouldn't be realistic in this case. I loved that Erin was loyal to her sister, even though Ruby was a poor excuse for a human. And her determination and dedication to help her, even going to meet the very intimidating Ivan was great. I loved the connection between Ivan and Erin and how they just knew, right from the beginning, that there was something there.

So glad I finally got around to reading this and I'm curious what more will happen!

Review: The Aussie Next Door by Stefanie London

The Aussie Next Door The Aussie Next Door by Stefanie London
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from Edelweiss. This is my honest review.

I have to say, the best part about this book is all of the love for dogs. Sure, Jace was a little resistant, and Angie was too for that matter, but the love of a dog is the most pure thing someone can experience, and Jace and Angie showed that throughout this novel.

Angie and Jace were okay characters for me. They both have deep issues that they have to work out throughout this book which makes them being together hard for them. Plus the fact that they were trying to be what they thought the other person wanted them to be didn't help them AT. ALL. They didn't talk to each other after their relationship got more serious, which is very frustrating as the reader when you can see what they are thinking and the reader knows that everything would just work out if they would state their thoughts outloud.

I'm glad I got a chance to read this eARC novel and I have a suspicion that Trent might be the next book in the series? :)

Review: Play Boy by Cassie-Ann L. Miller

Play Boy Play Boy by Cassie-Ann L. Miller
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This was a good novel. Nova and Charlie have obviously liked each other for awhile but never wanted to risk their friendship to try anything more. I'm glad that Charlie took the first step and that Nova took the final step to make things work. Both characters are a bit odd in their own way which made liking them a little more complicated for me but overall this was a decent novel. Glad I got a chance to read it.

Fast & Wet Fast & Wet by Kat Ransom
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from Booksirens. This is my honest review.

I am pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this novel. Emily is awesome. She's so smart and the more we go through this book, the more bolder and confident she becomes. Cole is also awesome in this book. He worked so hard to become an F1 racer and he's great at his job.

Watching these two reconnect was exciting and hot. It was like 6 years didn't pass by and they started where they left off.

I absolutely hate both Emily and Cole's parents. They are evil and deceitful and nasty people.

I am so glad I got a chance to read this eARC and I look forward to reading more books by this author!

Review: The Third Best Thing by Maya Hughes

The Third Best Thing The Third Best Thing by Maya Hughes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author. This is my honest review.

Ever since I've met Jules I knew I had to have her story. She seems so confident and sure of herself, but she's actually very self-conscious about everything. But the way she acts with Berk is amazing.

Both Berk and Jules are amazing. They have a lot of issues to work out but they are so good for each other and they help each other through the difficult times.

I have to say, though Jules is the most patient, loving, caring person. She is always wanting everyone around her to be happy and her baked goods can usually help someone become happy in an instant.

Berk also has that ability, so for the two of them to find each other is a happily ever.

But not everything is rainbows and sunshine... Lauren and Alexis redeemed themselves, but Jules' mom? She is downright nasty and I hope bad things happen to her.

I am so, so, so, so glad i got a chance to read this eARC of this book and I'm already looking for many more novels from this author already!

Review: Run Away With Me by Mila Gray

Run Away With Me Run Away With Me by Mila Gray
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from Edelweiss. This is my honest review.

So the main thing I'm thinking about is how does this book go in the series? I don't remember Emerson or Jake being mentioned during the first two novels... I'm all about having a standalone, but it just confused the crap out of me during the entire novel as to why this is part of the series when it should not be considered book #3.

Anyway, this was an okay novel. I had a hard time liking Jake or Emerson. They were being very vague about things, hating each other, pining for each other, staying away from each other, etc. It was a lot of back and forth stuff, a lot of flashbacks which I feel like this didn't need that many of them. The side characters, especially Rob and Reid, were annoying (though Reid redeemed himself, I will say).

I wasn't really able to connect that well with the story and it just felt like it lacked something, to be honest. Overall it was okay and I'm glad I got a chance to read it, but it is not something I will re-read again.

Stay With Me Stay With Me by Mila Gray
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from Edelweiss. This is my honest review.

I didn't think I was going to enjoy Didi's story as much as I did. I definitely liked Didi more than Jessa, I will say that. Didi has a no nonsense attitude and I admire her for knowing exactly what she wants to do, career wise.

My worst nightmare is going blind, so if I was Walker, I don't think I would have made it. He went through something terrible and I can't even imagine. What Miranda did to him was horrid.

What I loved the most about this novel? That Walker was able to see Didi without his eyes. Their connection was undeniably amazing and for him to know she was in the room without seeing or hearing her? That's what a connection is and what everyone strives to find in their life.

I'm glad I got a chance to read this book and I'm looking forward to the final novel in this series.

Review: Come Back to Me by Mila Gray

Come Back to Me Come Back to Me by Mila Gray
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from Edelweiss. This is my honest review.

I have to admit, I've had this book for forever and I'm just now getting to it...oops. But I was able to finish it and enjoyed it for the most part.

The biggest issue I had with this novel was Jessa actually. I completely understand about being on eggshells around a family member that can blow up at any minute, so I'm not judging her for her reaction against her father. But she's 18 in this novel. An adult. Stay living your life and stop letting him control yours so hard core. Get a job. Get a license. Go to college. Join the theater. Who cares if your dad won't pay for it? Figure out how to live on your own.

The secrecy with Jessa and Kit's relationship also bothered me, for the same reasons as above. And they also acted way more immature than their age, so that was something to get over.

Overall it was an okay novel. I'm glad I got a chance to read this and I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Review: Archer's Voice by Mia Sheridan

Archer's Voice Archer's Voice by Mia Sheridan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I've had this book for forever and finally got around to reading it. And I'm glad I did because I really enjoyed it.

I feel like this book really took the time to give the reader a detailed insight in both the characters. It wasn't a quick these are who we are and now we are obsessed with each other. Instead, both characters got deep into their souls and bared them to each other which helped their relationship in the end too.

Both Archer and Bree experienced terrible events that shaped then into the people we first met. They are damaged and broken and have basically given up hope. But once they stumbled into each other's lives, they start to live again and see the future getting brighter.

I loved the sign language aspect of this book. It's one thing I wish I learned to do while growing up. Sure I could still learn, but I don't think I could ever be fluent in it.

I'm so glad I finally got around to reading this book. I can see why so many readers loved it.

Review: Hooked on the Game by C.M. Owens

Hooked on the Game Hooked on the Game by C.M. Owens
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have to say, I wasn't expecting to get hooked on this book and wanting to keep my digital book for future re-reads. So the title is very forthcoming in how readers are going to react to this novel.

I read this book in 1 sitting and I read it very quickly. The writing is great, the characters are amazing, and the story is even better. I love Raya. I think she focuses a little bit too much on being poor, but she's a strong willed girl who knows what is right and wrong because of her father's past. She puts her heart on her sleeve and she's always debating between things, which make relationships a little hard for her.

And I love Kade. He wants to be a jerk at the beginning, but Kade is not a mean person. He just puts everyone at an arm's length away to protect himself. But watching him with Raya is amazing and I loved seeing how they both broke each other's walls with one another.

I also loved the little mystery in the middle of this book, and I actually adored Raya's dad. I wouldn't mind having a few of those skills myself!

I'm so glad I stumbled into this novel and I will definitely be looking for more books by this author!

Review: Ransom by Rachel Schurig

Ransom Ransom by Rachel Schurig
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This was a good novel about rock stars, finding one's self, and figuring out what you love the most in life.

I really feel for Daisy. She went through something really terrible and has to move past that to figure out what her future had in store for her. I'm really glad that Paige and Karen inserted themselves into her life. They helped her get past so many issues and helped her open up.

I like that Daltry and his family achieved their dreams and made it big. I do understand that their dreams aren't always what people think it means. They had a lot of pressure and no free time to just be people. I'm glad that Daltry started to stand up for himself. Though he didn't really started being vocal about his wishes until Daisy came back into his life.

I'm glad I got a chance to read this novel. I'd be curious to read the other brother's books in the future.

This was a good book. I'm glad that Alana got a chance to love her own live away from her mother's rule. Though she really didn't live her own life before meeting Mitchell.

I can't even imagine getting an eye injury like Alana got. I think I would have seriously freaked out hardcore. I'm glad Mitchell was there to take care of her.

Id be interested to see how Blake falls so I may have to get his book and see what happens.

Review: Becoming More by Bayli Lane

Becoming More Becoming More by Bayli Lane
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

Ugh. I just... Lilly needs a lesson in life. If your boyfriend of 4 years starts to change and "accidentally" abuses you, YOU DUMP HIS ASS!!!! There is absolutley no reason why you should stay with a person who hurts you. There are no excuses. The person you love should love you back and never have "accidents". God I seriously can't get over this.

I loved Colton, but my love for him could not give this book a higher star rating. And the way Lilly treated him by secretly seeing him and dickface Sander because she couldn't make a decision? I just feel gross now that I've read this self abuse that Lilly put herself through.

And let's not even into the subject of her shitty friend Lauren. I saw that coming miles away...

The ending was good but we didn't get that much Lilly and Colton time throughout this novel.

I hate giving books a 1 star review, but I just can't deal with the way Lilly couldn't man up and make a damn decision when she KNEW getting choked and hit was wrong.

And yes this had spoilers but I feel like everyone should be forewarned before going into this book. Honestly if I had known I probably wouldn't have read it.

Review: Idol by Elizabeth Lynx

Idol Idol by Elizabeth Lynx
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Willa is seriously one of my favorite characters. She's brass, opinionated, and not afraid to tell everyone what she is thinking. She doesn't get shy or embarrassed unless she is singing, and no way is a rock star going to escape her wrath when she's determined to tell him the truth. So there's no way that Hunter was able to stop himself from falling for her.

I really loved the adventure that Willa and Hunter took. Sure, there were issues here and there, but the sarcastic, snarky scenes, not to mention the intense attraction between these two, made up for the things it lacked.

I'm glad I got a chance to read this book and I may be swayed to read Willa's two friend's novels in the future!

I am a sucker for hockey romances. I am always reading them and always enjoy them, even though I've never been to a hockey game in my life. Maybe I should fix that...

I also loved how adorable Julia and Greg were together. Friends to lovers stories are nice every once in awhile and I did like seeing the progression between these two characters.

I really hated how Julia had to jump through hoops because of her job. I feel like that's a form of discrimination and it's honestly bullshit. She wad always concerned she was going to get fired and made that rule about not dating professional athletes because of it. I would hate to live life like that.

I'm glad I got a chance to read this novel!

I received this free eARC novel from Booksirens and the author. This is my honest review.

This was a great story. I loved how snarky both Lennox and Mallort are at the beginning and how they slowly start to show their true feelings throughout the novel. I also appreciated that they both did right and waited until Mallory was officially available before starting anything so they wouldn't become cheaters.

Everything with Digby was terrible and he is a horrible, nasty man. He got what was coming for him.

I loved all of the characters and loved the scenes when they were in Scotland. I'm glad I got a chance to read this novel and may have to look more into this author and series!

This was a really good book. I really appreciated how we were able to see the struggles that both characters were going through and it made their breakthroughs that much sweeter.

I really loved how tough Camryn was. She took no shit from anyone and she laid it out in simple terms. And her boxing - so awesome.

The secrets of Camryn and Teague's past took awhile to be revealed and I wish the two characters communicated a lot better because they misunderstood too many things.

But overall I really enjoyed this novel and I'm glad I got a chance to read it.

I've had this book for quite awhile and finally got around to read it. And it was okay. Both Brynn and Eliots character were pretty bland for me. I wasn't able to really connect with them and there were times where it seemed like not a lot happened.
