Review: A Cosmic Kind of Love by Samantha Young

A Cosmic Kind of Love A Cosmic Kind of Love by Samantha Young
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and NetGalley.  This is my honest review.

I adore Samantha Young and was very excited to dive into this new novel of hers!  It was very original and unique - I can't say I've read a romance about an event planner and an astronaut before, so it was fresh, entertaining, and so much fun!

Chris is kinda floundering throughout this book, which is really a refreshing way to look at the main guy character.  I like that he is trying to figure out his life and what he wants, because that is how ALL OF US normal humans feel.  Or at least I do, to be honest.  To read about someone who is social media popular and still feeling that way really gets the reader to realize that everyone, no matter how much you  may see them on TV, may have their own small problems but it just not look like that to you since they are popular and beloved by so many.

And Hallie is a spitfire.  Being in the middle of your parents is terrible, and she had a long task ahead of her to get to where she needed to be internally.  I love that she met Chris because she was able to realize what she needed to do.  I'm not saying that Chris changed her, cause I would never vote for that lifestyle at all.  Chris showed her how he viewed her and she grew from that positivity.  She learned what she wanted in her life and she made so many hard, tough plunges.  She honestly is my hero because there are moments in my life that I wish I could be that bold and honest.

And things weren't always rainbow and sunshine between Chris and Hallie, and I ALSO appreciated that.  This book honestly was like reading about a normal relationship and a normal lifestyle in a normal world.  It didn't feel fiction, it felt like reading a story that could be about me...er, well if you take away a lot of factors.  But the FEELINGS is what I related to and why this book hit harder than a lot of books I've read.  I connected it to a deeper level.  Whether that just means I've been going through the same things Hallie and Chris go through, or if this can generate with a lot of other readers, I'm not sure, but I DO know that I loved this book because of all of the things I've listed above.

I'm so glad I got the chance to read this book and can't wait to add it to my physical library and ever growing shrine to Samantha Young!

Review: My Brother's Forbidden Friend by Piper Rayne

My Brother's Forbidden Friend My Brother's Forbidden Friend by Piper Rayne
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Valentine PR.  This is my honest review.

The two we have been waiting for: Chevelle and Cam.  We have seen them at each other's throats for the whole series, so I knew this was going to be an amazing novel.  Seeing them go from enemies, to rivals, to finally telling the other one their true feelings, it was a bumpy ride from start to finish.  But I absolutely loved the emotional moments between these two.

Both Chevelle and Cam have their own secrets and distress.  Chevelle has been battling with grief her whole life and seeing her start to open up about her deep feelings was really emotional honestly.  And Cam looks and acts like the rich playboy, but he is SO MUCH more than that and getting to know him was fantastic.  I love how he reacts to Chevelle too and how attentive he is to her.

Seeing the whole Greene family was of course fantastic.  It wouldn't be the Greene family without a moment with the grandmothers, which always brightens my mood because they are a hoot and a half with their shenanigans haha.

I was also in tears laughing at the end with the family dinner.  Like I literally had to put the book down because I was laughing so much, it was so ridiculous haha.

I'm sad this family story is finished now, though I am looking forward to more in the Christmas story that is coming this winter.  I have been with this family since the beginning and I know I will miss them, so a re-read will be in order from time to time.  I'm so glad I got to experience all of their happily ever afters and I'm always looking forward to more by Piper Rayne!

Review: Vespertine by Margaret Rogerson

Vespertine Vespertine by Margaret Rogerson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from Edelweiss. This is my honest review.

Even though this took me a bit longer to read, I actually really enjoyed it! I love the dialog and friendship the main character and the revenant had. It was a bit unconventional, but I think Artemisia is a character who maybe needed that kind of companionship based on her past. She was very alone and couldn't quite figure out how to people well, but after being with the revenant it seemed to help her in a way.

I loved this storyline and how everything ended. I do think it was a bit long and dragged in parts, but I still really enjoyed it anyway. And I know I read an arc, so I think many things could have changed to the final edits.

I'm really glad I decided to finally read Margaret Rogerson novels and I'm excited to go into her next one soon!

Review: Mad Love by Hannah McBride

Mad Love Mad Love by Hannah McBride
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author. This is my honest review.

I honestly have no idea how Hannah McBride writes such amazing novels. This book hooked me from page 1 until the very last word. I absolutely adore these characters and I'm very bummed that it's now over. Though I'm definitely hoping for another series with secondary characters as the lead?!?!

Maddie is one tough chick. Seriously. I don't know how she is still a fighter. After having so many terrible things happen, I would have given up, not gonna lie. But she just kept going and I'm so in awe of her.

And Ryan. He was out for vengeance and he already has powerful resources, but boy when he's older and has the world in his hand? I would not want to mess with him.

Also? I absolutely love Royal. I seriously want his story so much. They way he is with Cori is the best and I need him to get his happily ever after. Can we make this happen? Soon? Please? I melt everytime he's mentioned haha.

I have been and will continue to blast Hannah McBride's name to every reader I know. I want everyone to experience these amazing books because I cannot get enough of them. I'm so excited I got the chance to read this ending to an AMAZING series and I cannot wait for more by this fantastic author!

Review: An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson

An Enchantment of Ravens An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from Edelweiss. This is my honest review.

After 5 years of having this book, I finally read it. And it's my first Margaret Rogerson book too! And overall I enjoyed it. It's different than most books I've been reading lately, which made it a bit harder to get through, but also refreshing at the same time.

Isobel has an extraordinary craft, gift, and for the fae to be enamored with it was great. But Isobel was very careful with the payments which I'm very impressed with. Most people get a bit carried away with that part of magic.

Rook is so funny to me. He's so stiff and disinterested one moment, then spouting off poetry the next.

I have all books on my kindle that Margaret Rogerson has wrote, so I'm interested to see how different or similar they are to this one. I'm glad I finally got around to reading this!

Review: The Hunted Queen by Jagger Cole

The Hunted Queen The Hunted Queen by Jagger Cole
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author. This is my honest review.

I binged this duet in 13 hours, and while I wished I could have savored it a bit longer, I had this uncontrollable NEED to see how everything came together. I don't regret my rushed, obsessed reading I just did one bit because, y'all, this duet is amazing!

I usually get mad at characters when they don't communicate with each other, and while I did get a bit frustrated with these two, in the end, they were listening to other characters and it was just messing them up. I don't think any amount of talking would have helped since they "thought" they were getting legit information from outside sources. But the amount of back and forth information was like watching a tennis match, and I got a bit discombobulated at times.

Everything wrapped up and we got the REAL answers by the end. I did actually stumble upon a big discovery 2 pages before the reveal, which I was really proud of myself for haha.

Kristoff and Harriet are strong, amazing characters. They are true fighters that will do anything to find the truth and find each other, no matter how they feel in the moment towards each other. Their pasts were really messed up and I wish people like Mikhail are never born, but sadly that's just not real life.

I fell for everything in this book, the good, the bad, the darkness, the light. I feel like a ton of readers are going to get sucked into this story just as hard as I did in the last 2 days and I'm looking forward to the next intense adventure this author will take the readers on!

Review: The Hunter King by Jagger Cole

The Hunter King The Hunter King by Jagger Cole
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author. This is my honest review.

My head is spinning from this book. So many twists and turns after another, literally can't figure out the truth from the lies.

And the adrenaline rush? I feel like I've run every step Tatiana did during this novel, that's how well written it is. Every intense scene had me holding my breath and I'm quite exhausted from the whole package. But that won't stop me from diving into the next book to go through it all over again!

I'm not only hooked by the spice, but also the storyline we've gotten from all of the characters. I still don't know what is truth and what is strategically placed lies for people to get what they want, and I haven't been this confused in a book in a long time. It's very refreshing and it's keeping me on my toes!

I'm very excited to see what really happened in the past and I can't wait to see what the future holds for Tatiana and Kristoff, because I just know it's not going to be an easy road to get there. Also? I'm waiting to see Tatiana really let loose and give people the justice they deserve. Fingers crossed that it happens in book 2!

If you've been hiding under a rock, I'm telling you now, pick up a Jagger Cole book - you won't regret it!

Review: Scoring To Win: The Complete Duet by Maren Moore

Scoring To Win: The Complete Duet Scoring To Win: The Complete Duet by Maren Moore
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Scorecard review:
This was a fantastic story. I love Emery and Graham. The attraction between these two is very intense and I was just waiting for the moment they finally confessed how they truly felt.

I absolutely fell in love with Graham after seeing him with the kids in previous novels. I knew he would make a fantastic father and husband, once he found the right woman to fall in love with.

I'm so looking forward to the next book after that ending and how things will progress with these characters!

The Final Score review:
This was such a great ending to Graham and Emery's story! So so many tears were shed from me (and the characters) and I went through so many emotions.

I loved seeing both of these characters make some huge, life changing decisions, and being happy with those changes. This really shows that happiness and ambitions can change in a single instance and that made it very real for me.

I really enjoyed this book and seeing these characters again. I'm excited for the next one already!

Review: Hunted by Meagan Spooner

Hunted Hunted by Meagan Spooner
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from Edelweiss. This is my honest review.

I've not read many YA fantasy books in awhile, so this was a lot rougher to get through because I needed to get into that mindset and genre again.

Yeva is a character who longs for more. Doesn't matter what is it, she needs something more. I liked that she took care of her sisters, even though she is the youngest. I liked that she had the ability to take care of herself and others. I liked that she had drive and obsession for her current passion.

And I liked getting small peaks into Beasts mind.

I'm not sure what else I wanted more in this book because it did keep my attention, but I just felt a lack of.... something. But overall I did enjoyed this book and I'm glad I finally got around to reading it.

Review: Hating the Player by Rebecca Jenshak

Hating the Player Hating the Player by Rebecca Jenshak
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from Valentine PR.  This is my honest review.

This is my first Rebecca Jenshak novel, though I heard about her before via Hello Lovely Box, so I was very excited to dive in and see how these characters fall for each other!

I love the intensity that Violet loathed Gavin.  Obviously the reader can tell that intensity really means another emotion, but she truly had a lot of passion toward Gavin and to see him finally get his act together and make amends with her was so sweet and swoon-worthy.  And I loved seeing her passion for design and also for her love of historical romances.  She's a very complete package kind of girl, to be honest.

Gavin has so much going on in his life - especially his disdain with his father.  I honestly think I would be in the same mindset and have a lot of anger and frustration with his dad.  The whole situation was messed up for many years, and the avoidance that happened definitely didn't help.

I loved seeing Gavin fight for a second chance with Violet.  She definitely didn't make it easy for him, but that's okay because he needed to find a way to make things right and to prove he was in it for the long haul rather than another blip like the first time.

I'm very glad I got the chance to read this book and I am definitely going to be on the lookout for more books by this author - new and backlog!

Review: Ruthless by Gillian Archer

Ruthless Ruthless by Gillian Archer
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

I've had this book for awhile and finally got around to reading it. It was a very fast read and definitely kept my attention the whole time, making me want more.

I love that Zag and Jessica are complete opposite. Nothing about these two would scream soul mates, but yet here they are, always thinking about each other and not being able to keep their hands off each other.

I did get super frustrated that these two couldn't be open with each other. Either through fear or stubbornness, both wouldn't open up that much and talk about themselves or their lives. Not sure how that makes what they were doing a relationship, but to each their own I guess.

I'm glad I finally got around to reading this story!

Review: Hidden Truths by Neva Altaj

Hidden Truths Hidden Truths by Neva Altaj
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and BookSirens. This is my honest review.

I am absolutely blown away by debut author, Neva Altaj!!! I have devoured her 3 books and I literally get sucked into her books and usually read them in one sitting. I never would have imagined this is her first series she's wrote, but you can guarantee I'm be here for each and every book she releases because I'm hooked now!

Angelina is a fantastic character and woman. She is so tough and open. She's seen some terrible things in her past, which made her the perfect woman for Sergei. She was so fearless around him, much to everyone's dismay. But she knew he wouldn't harm her and she wants him to get better, so she did what she needed to help him.

I love how possessive Sergei gets over Angelina. His initial reaction when finding Angelina and his protective personality really stayed with me through the whole book. And he was even trying to protect her from himself at times. Any threat to her became mission number 1 to eliminate and I loved seeing that so much.

I also love Mimi and Albert. So many great scenes with the two of those as well!

I'm very excited to get this book on my physical bookshelf to add to my collection soon! Can't wait for more to come!

Review: Her Ruthless Warrior by R.G. Angel

Her Ruthless Warrior Her Ruthless Warrior by R.G. Angel
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have been so intrigued by the synopsis of this book and finally just decided to get the ebook to see what it is all about. And I'm so glad I did! I really got sucked into this story from page 1 and it only got better with each page after that.

Violet has been through so much in her life and to see Hoka want to take care of her was amazing... until it wasn't when he jumped to assumptions instead of figuring out what really happened.

I loved seeing these two fall hard for each other. Hoka's entire life changed once he met her and I loved seeing him be his true self around her. But the way he fell for the lies and betrayal that happened was a bit heartbreaking. The least he could have done was talk to Violet before destroying what they had.

And yet, even after another major change in her life, Violet found a way to survive and make her life work. I really adore her. I just want to give her a big hug and take care of her for once instead of her struggling to survive.

I am really glad that Hoka had to work as hard as he did to get Violet's forgiveness and her heart. What he did was indescribable and cruel. I don't blame her for sitting down mentally and not feeling anymore. But to see her open back up again, and to see a man like Hoka grovel was what any woman would need after what she went through.

I'm so glad I decided to take a chance on this book and also get the special edition of it! I'm very excited to see what else this author has written and go through her back list!
