My rating: 2 of 5 stars
I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.
Oh boy, I've had this book for some time, just sitting on my kindle waiting to be read. Too many years to call it an eARC, but there you have it.
I wanted to like this story more, but to me it was just okay. Willa really got on my nerves. She's very egocentric and can't stand change, which drives me batty. I see her concerns, but she needs to let her dad live his own life and stop micromanaging him. Besides, she's a senior and will be going off living her own life, so the decisions he makes about his personal life won't affect her as much then.
I like Finn, but I feel like he puts on a front to look cool and nonchalant. I wish he would just tell it like it is to everyone, but he seems to only have that abruptness with his mom, weirdly.
At the end of this book it says there is a book 2: Willa and the Electric Kool-Aid Boyfriend Test (what an odd and long title...) but I can't find it anywhere so I'm assuming it never got published in November of 2016. I don't think I would have read it, but I did want to see the synopsis. Oh well, guess it wasn't meant to be?
I'm glad I finally got around to reading this novel!
