My rating is really 3.5 stars, but since I can't do halves...  I liked this book for the most part.  I love how dedicated and loving Rae is, I love that she put aside everything in her life to help the ones she loves, and I love the little town they found.  

What really bothered me was Benji's reaction to Rae, at the beginning and toward the end when he jumped to the wrong conclusion.  I get he has issues from his father, but I just don't understand how he can make assumptions without talking first.  Communication is key, and Rae was really trying to explain the situation, but he wouldn't let her.  And instead of saying what he was really thinking, he just closed up and put up his wall.  I don't know how they forgave each other so quickly, and the lack of communication was what led to the rating I gave this book. 

HOWEVER, like I said, I loved Rae, I loved Sarah and Lucy and Roman.  I did enjoy this story, I just wish the two main characters were more open with each other.  I felt like they didn't really get to know each other on a personal level and then things sort of exploded for a little bit. 

I'm glad I got a chance to read this novel and this is my first book by Lilian Monroe.  I'm hoping to read more of her stories in the future!

I can never turn down a book when one of the characters is a librarian. Brodie and Tabitha have an instant connection that they can't ignore, but Tabitha is trying to protect her anyway broken heart. Good thing for her that Brodie is persistent! 

I feel like they didn't talk to each other that much and got to know each other before caving into their attraction. But other than that I enjoyed this story a lot! I'm curious what else this author will write in the future, as this looks to be her first novel.

I gotta say, I was a bit hesitant at the beginning of this book. I wasn't sure if I was going to like it that much because Salem is DIFFERENT. She thinks differently, she feels emotions differently, and it was a bit hard to keep up with her. But she grew on me and I became invested in her and Arrow's story, needing a happily ever after.

Saffron A. Kent's writing was very unique - something I haven't experienced before which is why I was a bit disoriented at the beginning. She makes you feel like you are the character, that you feel the confusing feelings that are going on. Her writing is shorter, to the point, but repetitive to get the point across. Now that I've finished the book, I need to see if this is her normal style or not!

Salem seems both mature and immature all at the same time. She is wise beyond her years, but she loves simple things and is always throwing her emotions at the people around her. She's shy and inexperienced, but also bold and daring. There really isn't an easy way to explain Salem, except that she is true to herself and she's pure.

And Arrow is a big mess of emotions, but that's to be blamed on his terrible mother. My heart broke for him when his childhood was revealed and why he is the perfect person now. Just like Salem, I loved the new Arrow. The enraged, angry, EMOTIONAL Arrow who cannot control himself anymore. THAT is the real Arrow and he should never have had to hide that.

I feel like I want to say this was a dark novel, but then you have Salem who brings out the sunshine throughout the book. Seeing those two together was precious and I loved every second of it. I loved that Salem was willing to give up anything, everything, to make Arrow smile again.

So yes, my emotions are all over the place after this book, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I am so so so glad I got a chance not only to read this particular book, but to also be introduced to Saffron A Kent's work because now I need more. Especially the next book in the series, which I hope I get a chance to read when it's closer to release date.

This is a book that will stick with me for awhile and I know that other readers are going to devour it like I just did!

Review: Warlord by Jagger Cole

Jagger Cole knocked it out of the park again with this novel!  I think out of the books in this world, this one might be my favorite. 

Isla was always fascinating during Viv's story, so I was extremely excited when I saw that this was her story.  She handled herself so well at the beginning when Killian made her stay behind instead of getting to go back home.  And I loved that she SHOWED them how much she can't be pushed around. 

Plus she also put Killian in his place many times, which is something he does not like nor get very often, so that was amazing. 

As always, Jagger Coles' novels always fly by and I'm always sad when they are over.  I enjoyed the setting of this book and how barbaric it felt, which is different than his previous novels. 

So glad I got a chance to read this free eARC novel and am impatiently waiting for the next one!

I just... I love the stories that JLA comes up with, and I really, really love Hawke.  He is definitely creeping into my #1 Book Boyfriend spot, and that's very hard to do, but this scene just destroyed me. 

My all-time biggest wish is that Jennifer L. Armentrout is going to give us Hawke's point of view of all of the books like she did with Daemon's point of view in the Lux series.  Because this little scene is just a tease and I need more!  I need to see how he reacts, what he thinks when Poppy is around.  I need to know his struggle and how tempted he becomes and how close to the edge he gets. 

So, yes, I loved this little scene, but it has 1) left me wanting more and 2) has now made me want to re-read all of the books in the series... again...

I am so glad JLA loves her readers and gives us these gifts of hers, and I am definitely excited for more to come in this series!

Just...these books! I tell you, they leave you speechless at the end, dying for more and not getting it right away!  

Jasmine is so tough.  After what she went through, she was still tough and brave and smart.  She needed to make sure the ones around her are people she can trust, and the only way to do that was to be honest, truthful, and open with each other.  

Thankfully Kingston realized that his feelings for her are the real deal and made the correct decision, but boy did he fight it for a long time.  Stubborn boy.  I also think that Kingston should never let Jazz out of his sight, which will make her mad, but this girl is in more webs of spiders than I've ever seen.  

The whole thing with Kingston, Bentley and Jazz is a bit annoying to me, to be honest.  I've read books of FMM and reverse harem, but it's almost like they are experimenting when they are just going to hurt someone in the end.  I'm hoping that Bent will find his own woman - whether it be in this series or his own spin-off - and start to be happy again. 

Peyton is just - I can't even.  I really can't stand that girl and after the ending of this book, I don't even feel bad for her.  There are seriously so many other ways she can fix her problem than what she did, so I guess she made the nightmare that is her life now.  

I'm really enjoying this series and I cannot wait to get book #3 soon to see what happens next!  I definitely recommend this series!

This is my first book by this author and I loved it! Jazz is an amazing character who is tough as nails and doesn't give up without a fight. I love how much she adores her sister and what she's willing to do to get back to her. I love that she doesn't take any crap from the rich, snoty students at her school. 

Kingston is hard to figure out. Deep down he's a good guy trying to do the right thing, but he can switch the trigger to be downright mean and terrible. Not a good trait in my book. 

Pryton needs to suffer and be seriously injured... I really hate that girl...

I cannot even deal with that ending now and need the next book ASAP because holy crapola! Such a cliffhanger!
