Review: Five Ways To Fall Out of Love by Emily Martin

Five Ways To Fall Out of Love Five Ways To Fall Out of Love by Emily Martin
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

This was an okay book for me. Aubrey was so determined to find the negative in everything and everybody that it was a bit of a downer through the whole book. Her and Webster were too stubborn for their own good and wasted a year of being friends, and possibly more. I think there was too much miscommunication or just no communication at all.

Pieces of You and Me Pieces of You and Me by Erin Fletcher
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

Like all the books in this series, this was a quick, light novel. And since the characters are teens, a bit dramatic as well, which is to be expected.

I'm glad I got the chance to read this book!

Review: Kissing Drake by Jenna Dales

Kissing Drake Kissing Drake by Jenna Dales
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

This was a quick novel. I wasn't able to connect with either of the characters, and I thought everything was rushed and awkward, to be honest.  I liked that Paige went after what she wanted, but she was hiding even too herself her true wants. And Drake was pretty much a jerk through most of the book.

So this was an okay story for me, but I am glad I got the chance to read it.

Review: Gilded by Marissa Meyer

Gilded Gilded by Marissa Meyer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from Edelweiss. This is my honest review.

Ugh, I'm pretty sure this is the first book in a series, after that ending... If I had known that, I would have waited to read this, but 500 pages later, here I am. Oh well. Also, I'm not 100% sure it's a series, but I'm highly suspecting it.

Okay, let's get beyond that. I honestly don't know a lot about the Rumplestiltskin story line, and I feel like that was a bonus for me. Every time I read a retelling, I judge too much of the story and tend to not like the retelling. So for me not to know what originally happens I found myself really liking this novel!

Serilda is a force to be reckoned with! She's fiesty and fun and so strong. Being an outcast in her town cannot be easy, but the way she is with the children is fascinating to watch. And her tricky way of getting out of trouble, even when it puts her into trouble in the first place.

I love the moments Serilda had with Gild and seeing her flourish around him. And even though the Erlking isn't a character that one should like, I couldn't help but be entranced by him for most of the scenes he was in.

Because of the ending, I feel like there is more to the story, and if there is, I'm very excited to see what will continue with these characters. I'm really glad I got the chance to read this story and I look forward to reading more by this fantastic author!

Review: The Sweetest Thing by Maya Hughes

The Sweetest Thing The Sweetest Thing by Maya Hughes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author.  This is my honest review.

Maya Hughes writes fantastic novels, and The Sweetest Thing is nothing short of fantastic.  I will admit that I did want to strangle the characters more than once throughout this novel, but that just means I love them to death and want them to start communicating and stop doing silly things.

I admire Sabrina so much.  She did not hesitate to get out of her crappy situation, even though she had no where to go and no money, essentially.  But that did not stop her from leaving and I'm not 100% sure I can say I would do that.  I would definitely hesitate if I didn't have a back up plan, because that is just my nature.  And she persevered through everything and made a name for herself, even when things felt rock bottom.

Hunter has so many demons and nightmares surrounding him, I feel for the guy.  I LOVE that he reads Harry Potter and I can totally relate on why he couldn't read certain sections of that book because of his past.  I haven't experienced what he's experienced, but reading those passages guts me every time.  He is very hard to express his thoughts, so seeing him flourish with Sabrina was so amazing.

I adored seeing Without Grey in this book, and seeing the other characters in SWANK.  I cannot wait to see how everything unfolds with the other guys - I know it will be fun and exciting!

I'm so glad I got the chance to read this book and I know fans of Maya Hughes are going to love it!

Review: Stupid Love by Cindy Miles

Stupid Love Stupid Love by Cindy Miles
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

This is an emotional book that has me feeling everything. I adore Memory and Jace and everyone in their lives. But I'm really amazed at Memory's mantra to live each day like it's your last and to experience new things. She does it for a specific reason, but I think this is a great way to live. I don't do it myself, and I'm too sick in my ways to change now, but it's an admirable view of living.

Even though I adore her, I think keeping her secret to herself for a long as she did from her friends was wrong. And pursuing a relationship with Jace when knowing how critical things were, to me, was messed up. She should have been upfront and honest and let him make the executive decision because she is inserting herself in people's life and hearts and I just don't think that is right, at all.

So I had mixed feelings about this story, but overall I enjoyed it and I'm glad I got the chance to read it.

Review: Hard to Break by Bella Jewel

Hard to Break Hard to Break by Bella Jewel
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

Again, a great story about a woman in a male dominating world. This time it is Quinn as a mechanic, and a damn good one to. Seeing her butt heads with Tazen about her qualifications was great. What he did about her auto shop was cruel and mean, and I don't think I would have forgiven him.

For the first 50% of the book, I absolutely loved. It was a 5 star book. But then when Tazen and Quinn started hiking up, it took a downward turn for me. He treated her like crap, and they were always going up but not really knowing each other. They didn't really communicate or get to know each other, but were on an intimate and professional level relationship and for some reason that just bothered me.

So I enjoyed this book and I'm glad I got around to reading it!

Review: Hard to Fight by Bella Jewel

Hard to Fight Hard to Fight by Bella Jewel
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley.  This is my honest review.

I love stories that have a female in a dominating career, and a woman as a bounty hunter is pretty bad ass!  Being able to bring people in for one reason or another, and having the mental and physical capability blows my mind - because I definitely couldn't do it.  So I really liked Grace.  I hated her mom and sisters because they are nasty humans, but seeing her dad stick up for her was amazing.

Raide is yummy and sweet and dominating.  Pretty much, he's perfect, haha.  But he's on a one track mind and not seeing the bigger picture in life, so it was frustrating on how quick he was to judge and snap to an answer that wasn't necessarily the right thing to do.

I really enjoyed this book and I'm glad I finally got around to reading it!

Review: My Lucky #13 by Piper Rayne

My Lucky #13 My Lucky #13 by Piper Rayne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Wildfire Marketing Solutions. This is my honest review.

Oh my. The angst, the tension, the chase in this book was outstanding! I was annoyed with Saige for avoiding Aiden through most of this story. I get her concerns, but I don't think comparing what happened with ONE other athlete should define all athletes. If that happened to her multiple times, then I would understand. But not just one other person. That just means he was a jerk...

And Aiden. He restrained himself when around Saige for so long, I'm surprised flames didn't burst from him. I loved how he connected with her and always wanted to be around her. His thoughts on being lucky and superstitions was a bit much, but I absolutely know both of those are true in the sport world, so I get it.

I really enjoyed this book and I'm glad I got the chance to read it. But I cannot wait until book 2 comes out!

I loved this introduction to the hockey players who are getting their own books. I think this should be read before their full length novels to really see how things started for each of these couples, but maybe there will be a recap in the books - not sure yet.

I think the one I'm most excited for is Maksim but all 3 are very intriguing and I can't wait to see how their story pans out :)

Review: Grand Lies by J.C. Hawke

Grand Lies Grand Lies by J.C. Hawke
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Wildfire Marketing Solutions. This is my honest review.

This is an intense book. From the flashback until the last chapter, so many things happened that made me sit for a moment after finishing to just process this story.

I adore Mason and Nina, but I also think they need to work on themselves before diving into a deep, intense relationship. Both of them are making cringe worthy mistakes and they are hurting each other because of it. Mase needs to work on his words when he lashes out in anger. Some of the things he said would have made me leave permanently. I'm not sure how Nina forgave him.

And Nina is a runner. EVERY time something bad happens, she runs away and goes. That's not the way to deal with something, especially if you want to have something work out.

Neither of these characters have the amount of trust they should have to be together, if I'm being honest. They don't listen, trust, or communicate with each other, but they can't stay away. I kinda wanted to strangle them both. But when things worked out? They were electric with each other.

Even though I was a bit frustrated with these two, I did enjoy this book and these characters. I'm very interested to see them in book two, and hopefully some trust happening soon! Glad I got the chance to read this novel!

Review: Falling for the Villain by M. Robinson and Rachel Van Dyken

Falling for the Villain Falling for the Villain by M. Robinson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Wildfire Marketing Solutions. This is my honest review.

So, in case others aren't aware like I was, I would recommend reading Mafia Casanova first, as it is Juliet's brother, Romeo's, story. It gives you a good introduction to this world, and the dark story line to prepare for the insanity that this book has.

This book is not for the faint of hearts. It's crazy, intense, dark and may not be for everyone. Proceed with caution.

The authors did a fantastic job hooking me in and I found myself rooting for the characters to find a happily ever after, even though this was not a sweet, loving relationship. I should have been disgusted and terrified on what was happening. And I'm sure if I was in Juliet's shoes in real life, I would be. But just reading the story, I was on the edge of my seat hoping for more. It's kinda twisted, actually.

I am glad I got the chance to read this novel. It will definitely stick with me for a long time. I'm also wondering if the 3rd sibling, Tristan, will get his own book? I guess time will tell.

Review: Will by Kat Savage

Will Will by Kat Savage
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Wildfire Marketing Solutions. This is my honest review.

I adore Will and her confidence, so to see her in her own novel was wonderful. She actually isn't as confident as one might think when it comes to her personal battles. And anything to do with Derek.

I thought everything that happened with Derek and Will was adorable at the beginning. It gave me butterflies and made me feel like I did on my first date.

These two have inner demons to work out, which caused conflict with them. Thankfully it wasn't dramatic or over the top and Derek needed to figure out what it was he wanted in life.

I'm so glad I got the chance to read this novel! I really enjoyed it!

Stolen By the Hitman Stolen By the Hitman by Jagger Cole
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Ardent Prose Marketing. This is my honest review.

This is a very quick, very action packed story that you will devour in one sitting. Leah and Rourke are in over their heads during the event when they met, and things do not show down after that. I feel like they escalated to deep feelings really fast without knowing each other at all, but maybe in the moment of getting shot at, their future flashed through their heads and they just knew...I dunno.

As always, I enjoyed this new story by Jagger Cole and I'm looking forward to the next one!

Review: Beautiful Sins by Piper Lawson

Beautiful Sins Beautiful Sins by Piper Lawson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Wildfire Marketing Solutions. This is my honest review.

Rae and Harrison. Those two are electric together, so to see them at odds is very hard and sad. You can tell they are meant to be, but the road to that ending is long, painful, and a bit dramatic.

I like seeing how determined and strong Rae is becoming. She is becoming more confident in herself and that is amazing. She's been through a lot of hard times, so seeing her get past all of it is wonderful.

Harrison is also finding himself and figuring out what he really wants. Seeing him loosen up is also a treat!

I'm really loving this storyline and I can't wait for book 3 to show how everything wraps up!

Review: Mine in Hell by G. Bailey

Mine in Hell Mine in Hell by G. Bailey
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author.  This is my honest review.

Oh, to be back into this world again was fantastic!  I loved seeing all of my favorite characters of Lilith, Caspian, Eziel, and Alaric, along with Dragon and Knight.  And I love how much Lilith has grown into the strong woman she is becoming!  She is so kind and gentle, yet she is getting more fierce and independent the longer we get to know her.

I do think she is a bit more focused on her relationship with Alaric than the other 2 guys, so I hope that she gets to explore the other two relationships in future books.  And I'm yearning to know what is going to happen next, after that crazy ending!

I think this is going to be one of my top favorite series by G. Bailey, and I definitely recommend it to all readers :)

Review: Fighting Dirty by Sidney Halston

Fighting Dirty Fighting Dirty by Sidney Halston
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

When I read this synopsis, I felt like this was going to be a fantastic story.  A nerdy fighter? I mean come on, that sounds sexy. But in all honesty, Enzo wasn't really either of those to me. He is a rich, peppy snob for most of the book. Also thinking and talking about money. He was more worried about getting his $100 pants dirty when sitting in the grass...

Now he got better the longer he was around JL, but he had a stick so far up his ass it was a miracle he got it out.

I really like JL. She's had a rough past, but she hasn't let that make her negative about life. I like how she loosened Enzo a lot, and I love how she was always helping everyone around her.

Overall, I enjoyed this novel!

Review: Lust Born by Jacquie Underdown

Lust Born Lust Born by Jacquie Underdown
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley.  This is my honest review.

This was a pretty good book.  I think Ariana has had a rough life, and we see that at the very beginning with her struggling with life.  I thought the connection she had with Hadeon was forced and even though she was attracted to him, she kinda seemed to be attracted to any male, so at the beginning it wasn't as special, for me.

I liked how this became fantasy and how well Ariana adapted to the vast changes that were happening in her life.  I think Hadeon could have helped her adapt a bit better, so he's obviously not high on my life of love right now.

Overall, I enjoyed this book.  Oh, and I also called who the Sun Queen was, even though I was doubting my decision but was happy to be right in the end :)

After We Fall After We Fall by Marquita Valentine
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley.  This is my honest review.

I cannot image the horrors that Evangeline has gone through, so to see her fight every minute not to let her past terrorize her, and to see her moving on and making new, amazing memories, is a wonderful thing!  And I love how patient, yet also not-so-patient, Hunter is to make sure she is removing those terrible memories.  He has been enamored with her since the moment he saw her, so to see him get a second chance with her is fantastic.

I also like how Hunter has his own demons to face as well, and how both of these characters are able to help one another through some troubling times.

I really enjoyed this book and I'm glad I got a chance to read it!

I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

This was a cute, clean YA romance. Millie is very sweet and good and she definitely brings out the best in Cash. And Cash has just enough mysterious, bad boy vibe to let Millie experience life, in a good way.

This book pretty much started and finished perfectly, which had its pros and cons. I enjoyed this light, fun new romance and I'm glad I finally got around to reading it.

Sword and Verse Sword and Verse by Kathy MacMillan

I received this free eARC novel from Edelweiss. This is my honest review.

The concept of this story sounded great in the summary, but once I started reading, I had a hard time connecting to the story and the characters. I felt like the romance came out of nowhere and it was a bit forced. And I wasn't able to connect with the history of this world, so trying to keep up with what was happening in the present was very difficult.

I'm glad I tried to read this and even though I didn't enjoy it, I'm sure many readers will love it!

Review: Dirty by Kylie Scott

Dirty Dirty by Kylie Scott
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley.  This is my honest review.

Vaughn and Lydia are great characters.  Lydia has been through a traumatizing experience, so to see the way her and Vaughn meet was pretty priceless.  I love their connection they have and how they got to know each other very well, really fast.  I do think Lydia was a bit naive to move to a new place and get engaged so quickly - she obviously didn't know her fiance very well, but wanted to dive into that lifestyle and that secure feeling a bit too soon, but I get it.

I also love Lydia's personality and how she is always helping the ones around her.  I wish we could have gotten Vaughn's viewpoint a few times to see what he was thinking and feeling throughout the novel, but I still enjoyed him overall.

I'm glad I got around to reading this novel!

Fly Fly by Molly McLain
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

Oh, friends to lovers stories... I wish I could love them more, but the drama and the internal struggles the characters go through is just too much for me to deal with. Colton and Taylor go back and forth on of they should take their relationship to the next level, knowing it could ruin things. Then you throw in miscommunication that causes hurt feelings, and you have the recipe for disaster.

I'm also not surprised in the least about the way this ended. I even predicted it early on. I am kinda curious how things get resolved between these two, but I'm not curious enough to dive into book 2 and deal with, I'm sure, a shit ton of drama. I'm glad I got around to reading this, though!

This was a quick, interesting read.  Jaxson and Charlotte are quite the two characters and seeing them interact with each other was fun.  Both of them are strong willed and determined in their own ways, so seeing them both learn how to change their ways was a great time of character development.  I loved all of the twists and turns that happened with the mystery of the story, and seeing Charlotte be assertive in her wants was really great.

Raw and Dirty Raw and Dirty by Violet Blaze
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley.  This is my honest review.

This was a quick, action packed novel.  I enjoyed seeing Royal and Lyric fight the attraction they have for each other, just to quickly cave into the sexual tension they have.  They are 100% complete opposites of each other, especially their jobs, but that doesn't matter in the scheme of things.

I wasn't aware that this was the first book in a trilogy.  I am a bit tempted to read books 2 and 3, but I have so many books to read now that I just don't have the time to do that right now.  I think I can be happy with this ending, though, and know that the two of them are more than likely going to be with each other forever since this is a romance genre.  And I don't have to endure the drama between now and the end of book 3.

I'm glad I finally got around to reading this book and I may look into more by this author at a later date!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Wildfire Marketing Solutions. This is my honest review.

Oh my... I've just started the dark romance genre recently and I think this is the darkest I've read to date. I'm a bit stunned and speechless, if I'm being honest. My thoughts are all over the place and I'm not quite sure how to articulate what I'm feeling.

I didn't realize that Sebastian and Naomi have been introduced to readers before, so I'm probably going to have to read Reina's story soon.

I love how unconventional this book is, and how it has the message that is okay to be different. I'm very intrigued about Naomi's pen pal, which I have ideas on who it could be. And I'm very determined to see Sebastian finally show his true self - especially when it comes to his feelings for Naomi.

I'm really glad I was able to read this novel and after that cliffhanger, book 2 can't come soon enough!

My wish came true and we get Olivier's viewpoint! Except now I'm feeling bi-polar and wish that we also could have gotten Niamh's thoughts too... I wish both books were dual point of view, haha. Either way, I really liked this novel and how much both Olivier and Niamh grew throughout this story. Communication is so key and these two had to learn that the hard way, sadly.

I really enjoyed this storyline and watching both characters realize their full feelings by the end.

The Enemy Trap The Enemy Trap by Maren Moore
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Wildfire Marketing Solutions. This is my honest review.

This was a cute novel. I loved the tension between Hayes and Sophia and I'm surprised neither one caught on to the fact that they actually liked each other way sooner than they did.

The past I loved the most was seeing Hayes get all sweet and learning everything he can about babies before their child was born. He can do no wrong in my mind! Sophia's snap judgement at the end really bothered me, especially when she wouldn't let Hayes say anything to his defense, so I was a bit sad at that part.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I look forward to more by this author!
