Review: A Co-Worker's Crush by Piper Rayne

A Co-Worker's Crush A Co-Worker's Crush by Piper Rayne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Wildfire Marketing Solutions. This is my honest review.

This is my first book by this author, and of course it's the last one in the series. However, I didn't feel lost or confused during any part of the book, so if you are in the same boat as me, you can definitely read this as a standalone book!

I adore Frankie and Jax and Jolie. I loved seeing the interactions between Frankie and Jax grow to something stronger and more intense, and the amount of love and attention Jax had for Jolie was adorable.

Both of the main characters had personal issues to deal with and seeing them overcome them while also exploring the connection they had with each other was very real life like.

I'm really glad I decided to read and review this novel and I may just have to read the others, before and after this book, soon!

Review: Riot Rules by Callie Hart

Riot Rules Riot Rules by Callie Hart
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Wildfire Marketing Solutions. This is my honest review.

This is one big book! I liked that we got to see what really happened with Carina and Dash before Elodie came into the picture, and just how complicated it really was between the two of them.

I did feel like this book was a bit of a repeat of book one with more in depth details, but a bit repetitive none the less. Still made me hate the same characters I hated in book one.

I wish Dash fought a bit more for Carina when presented the situation, but I guess he did what he thought was best at the time.

I also wish we got more of their story after, rather than before and during book ones events, to really give their story an oomph effect  but I still enjoyed it.

I'm glad I was introduced to this author and this series and I'm really hoping that Pax gets his own book! I want to see that boy fall heads over heels for the girl of his dreams!

Review: One Was Lost by Natalie D. Richards

One Was Lost One Was Lost by Natalie D. Richards
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Edelweiss. This is my honest review.

This was surprisingly a good story! It had a lot of creepiness to keep you on the edge of your seat, a little bit of romance, a lot of suspicion and a great dynamic of friendship and survival.

Sera, Lucas, Emily, and Jude have pretty much nothing in common except they were all being hunted by the end of this book. I loved seeing then work together and help each other when someone got hurt.

I was bouncing around my ideas on who the hunter was, and I didn't really figure it out until right before the reveal. There were so many people I chose for different reasons, but I was pleasantly surprised at how long it took me to figure out out, so I was happy about that!

I'm really glad I got around to reading this book and I will definitely be reading more by this author!

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author. This is my honest review.

Harley and Foster's story is very interesting. I love that she called him to ask if he can bail her out of jail. She's definitely an interesting character.

I also love that Harley fosters dogs and helps find them their forever home. I adore dogs!

The connection bergen these two is undeniable and they hit it off right away. It took them a long time to confess their true feelings, but they finally got there.

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Edelweiss. This is my honest review.

Sadly I was not able to really connect with this series like I had hoped I would. The disconnect with the characters and not really getting emerged into the story as deep as I wanted to had a part in that, though I will say that I enjoyed this one a bit more than I did with book 1, which is a bit unusual with me.

Hopefully I am one of the very few readers who feel this way and that everyone will enjoy this immensely when it is released in 2021. It just wasn't for me, I've come to realize. I'm glad I got the chance to read and review this book.

This was a bit of a struggle for me to get through. I'm not really sure why, honestly, but I just couldn't really get into the story or even connect with the characters that well. I was a bit stunned with Dez, and things did pick up from there, but I still had this disconnect afterwards.

I'm going to attempt book 2, but I have a feeling that it may not work out for me. Hopefully that won't be the case!

Review: Only One Night by Natasha Madison

Only One Night Only One Night by Natasha Madison
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Wildfire Marketing Solutions. This is my honest review.

This is my first book by this author, and even though it's book 3 in a series, you can definitely read it on its own because I was able to appreciate the story without the previous books.

I love how electric Manning and Evelyn were when they first met. Sure, the situation wasn't the most desirable, but boy the sparks between these two was undeniable. And with them literally bumping into each other, you just knew it was meant to be.

I wish Manning had dealt with his personal issue with Murielle way before, not because of Evelyn, but because there is no reason for someone to suffer for that long. He needed his own happiness, and he was suffering for no reason.

I'm really glad I got the chance to read this and I'm very intrigued about the next book, after that ending!

The Forsaken Rune The Forsaken Rune by G. Bailey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author. This is my honest review.

This series is full of surprises and twists and turns. Daesyn has a lot of people supporting her, but they are also keeping secrets from Daesyn.

Seth is still my favorite of her guys, followed by Ryker, and Sebastian and Torfinn are still on the fence for me.

I'm curious how Daesyn is going to get out of her current situation that she finds herself in at the end of this book, but she is crazy resourceful that I'm not too worried. Also hopefully there are more scenes with Mossy in the next book too! That monkey cracks me up!

Review: Feels like Trouble by Tammy Falkner

Feels like Trouble Feels like Trouble by Tammy Falkner
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author. This is my honest review.

Each book in this series leaves me feeling happy and content. And Feels Like Trouble is no exception!

Grady and Evie are amazing characters who made me laugh and cry with emotion. I love a story about enemies-to-lovers, hatred to love, and these two are the perfect example of that. When they fight, it was like watching children spat about something silly, and they've been doing this for 25 years!

I adored the little moments they were at Lake Fisher and when Pops, or Mr. Jacobson, appeared with his infinite wisdom and gruffness. And Evie's grandma was also a hoot!

This entire series has shown how love can be achieved even when it feels like its slipped through your fingers, or you think it's too late for you. And I love that is not the easiest thing to do, but the end result is always worth it.

I really hope there will be more in this series, because I never want to say goodbye. Maybe Little Robbie will be the main star soon?! :)

I'm so glad I got the chance to read this book and I'm looking forward to more by this amazing author!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Edelweiss. This is my honest review.

Oh, this series! I actually really enjoyed it and loved all of the twists and turns that happened. Things seemed a bit bleak for a moment there, but my girl Brynn came through with her quick thinking and great ideas and came up with another brilliant plan.

I loved how many characters had deep secrets throughout this series. If I was there I wouldn't be able to trust a single person, but reading about them and seeing their mischievous minds working was fascinating to me.

I'm glad I got the chance to read this series and I know many readers are going to love this when it's published!

Scammed Scammed by Kristen Simmons
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and NetGalley. This is my honest review.

I honestly thought that book one could have been a standalone, but I'm glad there was more to read about this story because there is so many layers to unravel.

I love how quick and smart Brynn is. She may not always catch things in time, but she sure can come up with a plan to fix things.

I'm also glad that this series isn't romance dominated. Sure, there is romance, but that's not the main focus of this series and I like that. There is way more important things to worry about for these con artist characters.

I'm glad I continued with this series. The first book was a bit harder to get through, but this second book felt like I flew through it! And now I can't wait to see what happens in the final, third book.

The Deceivers The Deceivers by Kristen Simmons
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Edelweiss. This is my honest review.

I've been sitting on this book for quite some time, and now that I have all 3 books, I'm going to binge through them!

This book was really good, and really unique. I loved that Brynn is a con artist and she's good at it. She feels a bit of guilt, but she's out there to survive, so I see how she can carry on.

This book has a lot of characters, and all of them have so many layers of secrets. When things were reveled in the end, I realized I didn't even know the half of it!

Brynn is a great, strong willed character, and she's super smart. I'm intrigued to see what other mischief she will get herself into. Very glad I got the chance to read this book!

Review: My Beautiful Poison by T.L. Smith

My Beautiful Poison My Beautiful Poison by T.L. Smith
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Wildfire Marketing Solutions.  This is my honest review.

Gah, this book is not finished and I NEED BOOK TWO NOW!!!  Okay, okay, I'm good.

I can't believe how much I liked this book.  I was a bit annoyed with August being hot and cold throughout it all, even though that boy has been through SO much in his life, so I understand why.  I just think he could have given him and Rylee a chance and really put some effort into it, rather than running away.

And Rylee - gosh I love her.  She's a spitfire, so it is understanding how confused I was that she was with a jerk like Anderson.  I get the whole, it's habit, it's been years, blah blah, blah.  But she is such a strong willed person, you wouldn't think she would allow that to happen to her.  Just goes to show that everyone has weaknesses.

Seeing Rylee break down August's walls was great.  I am rooting for these two, but so many things are getting in the way for them to really connect and trust each other.

Also?  Rylee's mom?  If I was around her, I'd probably have to go to jail for how much I would hurt her.  She is a nasty, terrible person who needs to suffer, in my opinion.

So now I have to wait for book 2 to hopefully get the ending I want.  Thankfully I only have to wait until February, but still, I need it NOW!! haha.

This book was pretty great, so I would definitely recommend it to other readers!

I adore having the box set of series, and having G. Bailey's like that is amazing because I never want to stop reading the individual books.  And with the box set, I don't have to!  ;)

Corvina's story is fantastic and I love every adventure and hurdle she has to jump through.  Her character development goes above and beyond and you really see her grow into the woman she becomes by the end of the series.

I love all of these characters, and I love how many interchange between other series by G. Bailey.  I am definitely excited to read more by this fabulous author!

Review: A Reed Brothers Christmas at Lake Fisher by Tammy Falkner

A Reed Brothers Christmas at Lake Fisher A Reed Brothers Christmas at Lake Fisher by Tammy Falkner
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author. This is my honest review.

I am in love with this novel. The Reed Brothers series is my all time favorite, and the Lake Fisher series is a close second, so putting the two together? It is magical and amazing and I couldn't ask for a more fantastic novel. Though I know that the next book Tammy Falkner writes will be another beautiful masterpiece, because everything she writes is!

Seeing all of the characters come together to celebrate the holidays away from fans and tv sets was really wonderful. These are the characters we met from the beginning, and seeing them happy and healthy and giving made me ecstatic.

I adored the scenes with Pop, as always, and I loved the sneak peak with Seth. THAT is going to be a great story which I hope Tammy is already plotting out his book?!? Though I bet the idea of writing all of the Reed kids' novels would be intimidating lol!

Every time I read about the Reeds and their passion for helping and giving, it makes me want to be like them and be a better person. It makes me emotional and it gives me hope that there are good people like them out in the world.

Also, I loved that we got to see another baby Reed in this book! Gah, I now feel like rereading the entire 20 book series because I just love this world so much!

I'm so glad I got the chance to read this eARC and I will be recommending this book (and series) to everyone I know... again!

Review: Creatures of the Night by Grace Collins

Creatures of the Night Creatures of the Night by Grace Collins
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from Edelweiss. This is my honest review.

Why, why, WHY is this book not labeled book 1 IN A SERIES?!?!? Please, for the love of readers who cannot stand reading incomplete series, FIX THIS MISTAKE!!!! Okay, I got that out of my system I think...

Overall, I liked this book. I liked the setting, I liked the premise. Milena is a pretty brave character, for the most part. Sure, she's terrified of everything, but given the way she grew up, it makes sense.

I don't understand why everyone is thinking she's going to create a miracle when all hell breaks loose, but that's their issue I suppose.

I'm intrigued by Elias and wish we could have gotten his viewpoint throughout the book.

If this was a standalone, or if it was labeled as book 1, I probably would have given it a higher rating because I did enjoy it, but right now I'm a bit salty that I was lead astray and I'm really mad and upset by the slight cliffhanger ending.

I think readers who enjoy a deep, layer upon layer of mysteries novel will enjoy this book.

Okay... so I tried. I really tried to enjoy this book, but I really can't stand Shane. He's a tool who is a spoiled brat and demands everything he likes. And he thinks he's God's creation on earth and that kind of attitude and mindset really ticks me off. So sadly, I couldn't deal with this book, even though I was really looking forward to reading this. I'm sure other readers will enjoy it, I just couldn't deal with it.

I am really enjoying these holiday novels that Jagger Cole is spitting out!  And I love that they are in snowy Montana, even though I despise the snow.

Marshall and Addison are at each other's throats in this book, but when they finally give into temptation, it's steamy and intense!  I love that Addy isn't taking crap lying down, but actually helped when the time came.

Whenever there is a new Jagger Cole novel, I'm right there to read all of his masterpieces!  This was another great book by him!

Review: Consequence by G. Bailey

Consequence Consequence by G. Bailey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author.  This is my honest review.

This book had so many surprises and twists and turns, and I loved every  minute of it!  I really loved that Regan is an assassin - that is so cool and honestly doesn't happen very often in books, so when I get the chance to read them, I devour them.  And this is even more unique because it's a contemporary -  many assassin books I've read are fantasy/sci-fi genre.

Regan is amazing and I love her.  The only issue I had was if she's this badass assassin, you think she would be able to have resources to figure out who blackmailed her.  I'm telling you, if I was her, I wouldn't have succumbed to that threat, but would have found the immediate threat, and then killed THEM.  I enjoyed seeing Regan be a strong female character who can defeat boys in fights and sports, and she is confident and cuts straight to the point.

I'm not sure how I feel about the boys she's interested in.  I didn't feel any strong vibes or connections with any of them, but I do know they will treat Regan well, which is all that matters.

I loved all of the deaths that happened in this book (...such a weird sentence to write...) because they were all well deserved.  Every one was evil and despicable.

I'm really glad I got to read this book, and it will definitely stick with me for a long time!

The Havoc We Wreak The Havoc We Wreak by Becca Steele
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Wildfire Marketing Solutions.  This is my honest review.

This was a great ending to Caiden and Winter's story.  I loved all of the justice that was served and all of the secrets that were uncovered.  There were a lot of twists and turns that I actually didn't see coming, which is a change of pace for me since I usually call a lot of things.

I absolutely adore the other part of the Four crew.  Weston, Cassius and Zayde all have their own little quirks, and I am so excited to see what will be coming for these boys!!  I'm not sure if there will be as much drama as what happened with Cade and Winter, which is okay because that is too much drama llama, but I am excited to see which woman in their lives will be able to tame them!

I'm excited I gave this series a chance, and I will definitely be looking out for the other boys' stories!!

The Demon Academy: The Complete Collection The Demon Academy: The Complete Collection by G. Bailey
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author.  This is my honest review.

It's official: my favorite G. Bailey series so far! I loved everything about this series, from the unique topic, to the smoldering guys, and to the badass main character. The last books in Baileys novels always feel so short, but there is so much involved in the storyline.

I also love how resilient Lexi is. She is put through a lot of crap, but she doesn't do what she's told to do just because someone demands it of her.

Seeing her interact with Claus, Nick, Morgan and Javier is so fantastic. And the chemistry she has between all 4 is very steamy.

I now need to read the Tales series as I have met those characters, and I need to follow up with the angel series.

This collection of novels is one that I am going to read and reread many times in the future :)

Review: Seeker by Kim Chance

Seeker Seeker by Kim Chance
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This was a great ending to a great story! The author did a fantastic job with the storyline and the character development. Lainey really grew into her role and legacy by the end of this series and I loved seeing her overcome her struggles. And Ty. This poor boy was pulled in every direction, but he was able to figure out what was the right path for him.

I still loved Maggie and her love for Marvel, Harry Potter, Supernatural, and all things nerdy.

I realized that this is also a clean novel, which I don't find to many of these nowadays. It was a nice change and I enjoyed how it was focused on the events, rather than the love interest.

Also? The connection Lainey needed? I absolutely loved that the love of a family member/friendship trumped a romantic love. That really doesn't happen too often!

Glad I read this, I really enjoyed it!

Keeper Keeper by Kim Chance
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and NetGalley. This is my honest review.

After a few years, I finally got around to reading this. And I honestly enjoyed it. The beginning of this book showed just how ordinary Lainey's life was, but everything got chaotically different when her powers grew out of control.

I adore Maggie and her love of all things nerdy. She was a bright point of this story, no matter what the situation was.

Ty is a complicated character who i feel like we haven't figured out his story yet. It that's what I'm hoping.

Lainey grew into one brave woman by the end of this book. She acted like any normal teenager world of they discovered everything she learned, but the more she unvielded, the more she wanted to change things.

Very curious to see what happens in book 2!

The Tomb The Tomb by S.A. Bodeen
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

I have had this book for way too long and just got around to reading it. For the most part, it was a decent book. I think the goal and plot were good, but it was the characters that I didn't really have a good connection with. Kiva and Seth were pretty estranged and kept a lot of secrets. They felt like they loved each other, but still didn't trust each other.

Also, this has a cliffhanger, but no indication that there is a sequel? Which definitely angers me because I hate unfinished things...

So overall it was an okay novel for me. I'm glad I finally got around to reading it.

I tell ya what, these endings are killer! I really emitted this second installment of this series. There were many pieces that were getting answers, but just as many questions that arised too.

Winter really needs to stop wandering off by herself, though, because she is always getting hurt!

I love the boys, though Zayde is still my favorite, for whatever reason.

I'm very intrigued on how things are going to end, and I'm very very curious as to whom the group cornered at the end of this book!

The Lies We Tell The Lies We Tell by Becca Steele
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Wildfire Marketing Solutions.  This is my honest review.

As like the majority of bully romances, I had a love/hate relationship with Caiden.  He was such a jerk to Winter, but the connection between the two was undeniable from the moment they met.  I think Cade's reason for not liking Winter was a bit of a stretch, and it didn't last very long, but he sure tried to hate her.

Winter and Weston's relationship is adorable and I love them so much.  They truly do act like sister and brother and they both have each other's backs.

Cassian is a troublemaker, through and through.  He is also pushing Cade's buttons and I find that hysterical.

But, honestly, my bully crush was with Zayde.  I dunno, for some reason, I really wanted Winter to be with him instead - he seems more mysterious and even though Winter says he's scary, I just vibes of his quiet demeanor.  Hopefully he will get his own story and we get his viewpoint because I would totally jump on board for that!!

I'm very intrigued to find out what will happen next with this group of characters and what mysteries they will discover!

Loose Possessions Loose Possessions by Lily Roberts
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

So, I didn't realize that this book literally picks up where the prequel ended, so I definitely recommend reading the Red Zone first to get Scott and Sydney's back story and history.

The tension and animosity between these two is crazy ridiculous. Both are so competitive and it has grown into an outright rivalry throughout the years. But I loved seeing them come to realize that their feelings are slightly changing and they are actually wanting to see each other more.

Both characters have their strengths and flaws, but that makes them feel very real to the reader. I enjoyed seeing them struggle with their feelings and opening up to each other through this book.

I'm glad I discovered Lily Roberts and I'm on the lookout from more by her!

I really liked how Colson and Sydney met and i really liked how direct Sydney was at the beginning. But then she started to go from hot to cold because of her insecurities, making communication and a connection pretty impossible.

Colson is honestly a great guy. I love how he is with the community center and I love how patient he is with Sydney. I also really like his level headedness and how open and honest he wanted to be.

I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

Kasie West is the only author I can think of whose books (all of them) make me completely happy. They just have this warm feeling for me and make me feel good, so when I saw this eARC, I instantly downloaded it and devoured it.

I love the idea of a camp that has no connection to the internet world. Today, people are always stuck in their phones, tablets or computers and never really LOOK at people anymore. So this camp that Avery and her family went to is has a FANTASTIC concept, in my opinion!

I'm also so proud and happy for Avery. She's been bogged down by everything and kinda just existing without really having passion for something. Not only did she find that passion, but she also overcame a huge fear of hers. She grew so much during this novel and I couldn't be more happier for her!

As always, Katie West made my day with this book and I'm already anxiously awaiting for her next masterpiece!

War of Dragons War of Dragons by Jessica Cluess
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

The battle scenes in this book were outstanding! I felt like I was thrust into the middle of each viewpoint. I'm glad we still got everyone's viewpoint in this novel and I am really happy about how each character was able to grow into theirselves. There was a lot of information thrown into this book, but I didn't feel like I was lost or overwhelmed.

All of these characters have a key part in this war and I love that so much. They are not waiting idlely by while one person saves the day. Without each one of these characters, a lot of things would have gone horribly wrong.

I love the dragons in this book, especially with that twist!

I'm really glad I got the chance to read this series!

I love a good dragon story, so I was very excited to read this series. And I'm happy to say there were a fair amount of parts that involved the dragons! Some books about dragons rarely have them in there, so I was hopeful.

I think this is the first book in awhile that I had more than 2 viewpoints. With 5 characters and thoughts, I am happy to say I didn't get confused at all when each chapter was a different character. I'm really glad that we did get all 5 of their viewpoints because it really developed the story and made the reader understand each contestant.

Emilia, Lucian, Ajax, Vespir, and Hyperia are all extremely different from each other. I really disliked Hyperia from her first chapter and the feeling only grew stronger from there. Emilia and Lucian are my favorite of the bunch.

The ending was great and I'm so glad I'm going to dive into book 2 to see what happens next!

Review: Chased: Part Two by Piper Lawson

Chased: Part Two Chased: Part Two by Piper Lawson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley.  This is my honest review.

What a great ending to this story.  I loved the whole thing and really got invested in Chase's issues that he was dealing with.  And I loved how loyal and determined Ariel was.  You can tell that these two were meant to be and I was there for every minute.  Seeing Ariel with Drew was sweet and I really enjoyed how much he opened up to her about his likes and passions.

This was a hidden gem that I, for some reason, wasn't expecting to like as much, so I'm really glad I got the chance to read it and discover this!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley.  This is my honest review.

I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed this part 1 of Chased!  Ariel and Chase are really convoluted characters who have layers of mystery and intensity.  I also love the running aspect since I used to be a runner, so I can relate a lot of my history with that part of the book.  The chemistry and tension between these two characters is off the charts and it was only a matter of time before they caved into temptation.

I'm also really enjoying the mystery, creepiness of this story - again, not something I was expecting so overall I'm very glad that 1, I finally got around to reading this book and 2, I have part 2 to finish this story!

Review: Love Thy Neighbor by Teagan Hunter

Love Thy Neighbor Love Thy Neighbor by Teagan Hunter
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Wildfire Marketing Solutions. This is my honest review.

This story is adorable, sweet and so so steamy!  I absolutely adore Caroline and Cooper. I love how close they are as friends and I was 100% down for them becoming more. Both of them are hot nerds and I love that fact because they are made for each other.

Caroline became my bff when she was binging The Vampire Diaries and loved on Caroline in the show because they are doppelgangers. Then throw in her shyness and love of books and I was hooked.

And Cooper?! Whoo, I feel for him so hard! And the way he took control and was commanding in the bedroom? So steamy and hot!

I'm so extremely glad I got to read this eARC and I've been introduced to this author! This is a must read!

Review: Collateral Damage by Giulia Lagomarsino

Collateral Damage Collateral Damage by Giulia Lagomarsino
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Wildfire Marketing Solutions. This is my honest review.

So book one basically ripped my soul out and I ugly cried, but I'm happy to say this book did NOT do that. I don't think I could handle that again.

Robert and Anna are very intruding characters. I knew something terrible had to happen because there was no way Anna was that upset with Robert over something silly. And I was right, unfortunately.

Robert is something else. I actually didn't really like him all that much. He was so focused on money and rich items that he lost sense about anything else in his life. He said some pretty terrible things and really felt confused when people got upset at him because he didn't realize what he sounded like. Thankfully he redeemed himself by the end, but I know I wouldn't be able to tolerate him if I were Anna.

The parade scene was definitely my favorite and I was laughing so hard! Also that ending was so jaw dropping! I cannot wait to see what happens during that storyline!

Review: Trouble by Adriana Locke

Trouble Trouble by Adriana Locke
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley.  This is my honest review.

This was so sweet!!  I seriously love Penn.  He's seen as a player (for obvious reasons) but when he's with Avery, he wants to be better, to be someone else, but he is sooo confused and he makes mistakes and he's human.  Just pure human who is learning it step by step.  He stumbles over mistakes he makes and his words and he legit is bewildered about Avery's reactions sometimes, which just makes him look like the sweetest, most adorable man I've read about in a really long time.

Avery is so patient and understanding when it comes to Penn.  Though at a certain point she does have to be a little more upfront and harsher with her decisions to make her point across, but she legit understands where he is coming from.  With both of them having similar pasts, these two are definitely meant for each other and are there to help one another.  I also love how Avery was able to start painting again and see out a dream of hers come true without the influence of her parents' judgement.

I'm so glad I finally read this book and I am so glad I loved it so much!  I'll have to see about looking for the other books by this author :)

Review: Rival Hearts by Brenda St. John Brown

Rival Hearts Rival Hearts by Brenda St. John Brown
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Wildfire Marketing Solutions.  This is my honest review.

This was a cute novel.  Lucy and Stefan are fighting their attraction for one another for most of the novel because of the circumstances of their issue, but seeing them get to know each other and come up with solutions was great.  I really love Lucy's love for animals and how she takes in the strays.

I also thought that having the guy be British was fascinating, until I realized that READING about British guys, is NOT the same as watching a show about British guys... I can't hear the accent lol!  I love the cute town this novel is set in, for some reason in my mind I was think of Godrick's Hallow from Harry Potter the whole time... really not sure why though!

I'm glad I got the chance to read this novel and I can see many readers falling in love with this story!

Review: The Bookworm's Guide to Faking It by Emma Hart

The Bookworm's Guide to Faking It The Bookworm's Guide to Faking It by Emma Hart
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author. This is my honest review.

I am seriously loving this series! It's like these books are made for me, seeing as I adore books and connect with these women far too much. Holley is my girl. I'm very detail oriented and very OCD organized, so seeing Holley go through similar phases that I do is comforting and familiar.

I get why she was upset with Sebastian all those years ago, and I completely understand about holding a grudge, but boy she is so stubborn. If only they could have talked and found out what really happened, 8 years wouldn't have flown by...

This is a slow, slow, slllooowww burn novel. I was very impatient, waiting for these two to finally get together, and I about gave up all hope. Thankfully they finally got in the same page, and seeing them banter and flirt want to bad while I played the waiting game.

I love Sebastian but just wished he would have been brave and told Holley his feelings. And I'm glad he's got a backup plan in case baseball doesn't work out. Many don't and things fall apart quickly.

So, yes, I loved this book and all of the book related parts that made me reflect on my life and how amazing us readers are :) Can't wait for the next one!

Review: The Best of Us by Kennedy Fox

The Best of Us The Best of Us by Kennedy Fox
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Wildfire Marketing Solutions. This is my honest review.

Kendall and Ryan. Gah, where to start. I was extremely excited to read Ryan's story because he was such a hero in book 1 and I wanted him to have his happily ever after. And Kendall is just the girl for him. They really are complete opposites but that works out for them because they are able to get each other out of their shells that they hide under.

I'm not sure if I would be able to handle a snowstorm with no power... I think I might go a bit crazy if I had to do that. First I hate snow and second, no power means no reading which is a travesty. Plus the food shortage would be a bit daunting.

The communication between Kendall and Ryan needed a bit of work. Kendall talked about how she likes to tackle things head on, but she sure did run away quickly when it came time to tell Ryan how she was really feeling.

I'm extremely glad these two got their novel and after this ending, I'm very, very intrigued about book 3!

Review: The Broken And Sinned by G. Bailey

The Broken And Sinned The Broken And Sinned by G. Bailey
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and BookSprout.  This is my honest review.

I don't know how G. Bailey does it, but she's a beast when it comes to writing books, and they are all extremely unique and binge worthy.  The Broken and Sinned was an amazing vampire novel that sucked me in (hehe) from the beginning and kept me on edge throughout the entire novel.

Riona is one tough chick who can take a paranormal event and try to find ways out of this world she doesn't want any part of.  And I know I'm probably not supposed to like Maddox, but the Mad Prince made me fall madly for him and I need more.  I'm also intrigued because usually G. Bailey writes RH, but I'm not getting that vibe from this book?  Maybe the next book?  Or maybe it will just be a FM novel?  Either way, I'm down for any of it, but I just know that I need more books after the ending of this one!

Maddox and Reign are fabulous, I love the backstory on why they are the way they are, and seeing vampires, witches and sirens in this world is fascinating.  I cannot wait for more, and fans of G. Bailey will love this new series!

Review: This One's For You by Brandy Jellum

This One's For You This One's For You by Brandy Jellum
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and NetGalley. This is my honest review.

So I thought this book was okay. I got a lot of Beautiful Disaster vibes from it, especially when they said their relationship was a disaster. I really just wish they would have talked to each other more and dropped hiding their fears and insecurities from each other. If they had talked, a lot of their problems could have been fixed. Or at least they would have been aware about everything they were up against instead of acting blind.

I get why both Owen and Brennan acted the way they did and that they were protecting themselves, but hiding from each other and then jumping back into each other's arms within a blink of an eye really jerks the reader into whiplash.

Also the relationship with Amelia was kinda messed up. Amelia got mad because Brennan wouldn't tell her the dark secret (which she already knew about!!!!!) But then wouldn't tell Brennan about her secret or who she was seeing... that's not really a true friendship in my opinion.

Over this was an okay novel. I'm glad I finally got around to reading it!

Review: An Education in Ruin by Alexis Bass

An Education in Ruin An Education in Ruin by Alexis Bass
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Edelweiss. This is my honest review.

Ummm... what...? I seriously felt like I spent the last few hours binge reading a book that really had no purpose. Collins gets into this school to ruin 2 brothers, but she's really knowledgeable about her fathers work about stocks or something and becomes one of the popular people, but she's really trying to sabotage lives, only to do none of that and everything falls apart anyway...?

Also, I feel like Jasper wouldn't want to be with a clingy, desperate person when Collins was begging for help  but that is apparently his weakness?

Sadly, this book and I just didn't connect at all. I'm sure other readers will like it, but all I felt after finishing this was confusion and also relief that it was finally done.

Review: Taking A Chance by Kat Savage

Taking A Chance Taking A Chance by Kat Savage
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Wildfire Marketing Solutions. This is my honest review.

Out of the 3 books in this series, this one is by far my favorite! Cora and Declan had a connection that I thought was so intense and crazy hot.

Cora is a bit judgemental and just made terrible assumptions, which she later kicked herself about. And sweet Declan is so awkward and adorable. Usually I prefer alpha men, but Declan's quiet, odd demeanor was so great, and caused for a lot of confusion, misunderstanding and laughter.

I'm glad I was able to read this series and get an introduction to this author.  I may have to look into other works by Kat Savage!

Review: Don't Date Your Roommate by Elyse Kelly

Don't Date Your Roommate Don't Date Your Roommate by Elyse Kelly
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Wildfire Marketing Solutions.  This is my honest review.

This was a very short, cute novel about finally finding the right person.  Christian and Ava have been orbiting around each other for a couple of months, but once they become roommates do they decide to see if the connection they feel is real or not.

I liked how Christian is a relationship guy and not a one night stand guy.  It does make him a bit MUCH to handle if you are not looking for that right away, but he's sweet and charming and such a loveable person.  And Ava is just trying to figure out her life after the craziness her parents taught her throughout the years.  I would not be able to handle her life growing up, and I am so there that I would have left that life in an instant!

These two were cute - maybe a little TOO cute with each other, but it was nice to see two people connecting and realizing their feelings for each other.  I'm glad I got the chance to read this book!

Review: Playing for Keeps by Alley Ciz

Playing for Keeps Playing for Keeps by Alley Ciz
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Wildfire Marketing Solutions. This is my honest review.

Oh Kayla and Mason. These two are so intense and they have SO MUCH going on between the two of them. I seriously could not live their lives without losing my mind.

I really enjoyed this novel and this series. I know it's not done yet, but thankfully this book did not end in another horrible cliffhanger like the first 2 books! The only thing I have a mild complaint about is that there are too many characters and to many nicknames to keep track of. There were moments I could not figure out who B or G was and I had to stop and really think for a moment which took me out of the story.

Otherwise, I am really glad I read this series and I'm intrigued to see what else happens!

Review: Hungry For Her by Jagger Cole

Hungry For Her Hungry For Her by Jagger Cole
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Ardent Prose Publicity.  This is my honest review.

I think this might be one of my all-time favorite novels by Jagger Cole!  It was so unique and different, yet steamy and sweet.  I love how much of a contraction the main male character is - living a life of survival, but also loving to bake.  And Sophie is the same, where she is so sweet, yet her past is full of danger and craziness!

And for both characters to come from Chicago but meet in a small town, only to have their pasts line up as well was a bit too convenient, but I'm all about that because their connection was on FIRE!!!  They instantly connected, were instantly attracted to one another, and neither of them played any stupid games of pretending they weren't attracted to each other.  It was very refreshing considering many novels would play out that and create a lot of drama between the characters.

I'm a bit confused about Sophie's hair color; I'm sure it said she was a blonde, and had "dark hair" in the novel, but also the model on the cover is a brunette, so that's probably the only thing I would complain about.  In the end, it doesn't matter because I absolutely, positively adored this novel and everything that was in it!!

Also, Sophie's grandma?  I seriously laughed out loud so many times whenever she was in the page because she is a HOOT!!!!  I could read more about these characters as long as grandma is with them, because it would never be boring!!

A fantastic novel just in time for the turkey holiday season.  I didn't know I needed this novel until I finished it!
