Review: Homerun Proposal by Maren Moore

Homerun Proposal Homerun Proposal by Maren Moore
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author. This is my honest review.

Oh. My. Lanta. I honestly did not expect to LOVE. THIS. BOOK. SO. MUCH!!!!! I always enjoy Maren Moore's novels but this HAS to be my favorite of the bunch!

Hallie is fantastic. I love that she is true to herself, loves what she loves, and doesn't care if people say things like she's weird or quirky. She is truly happy with her life and I absolutely love that about her. We all need to be like Hallie!

And Lane? LANE?! That boy is the perfect boyfriend. He's what ever woman wants. I legit got mad at my boyfriend that he wasn't as attentive or sweet or considerate as Lane was being. It made me mad I didn't have my own Lane in my house. I cannot express how much I love this man and how amazing he is.

I freaking loved seeing Lane and Hallie together and it was the sweetest thing ever. I also LOVE that this wasn't the typical siblings-best-friend-romance where the sibling was super mad that his brother and best friend got together. Instead, Eli was like, do what you got to do but don't break her heart. He acted like an effort more than EVERY CHARACTER I've ever read in another book and he didn't force then to be apart of sneak behind his back. Bravo Maren Moore for showing me to love this trope for once!

This may be a book I have to own. The story was fantastic and the illustrated cover?? LOVE!!!!

I am so glad I got the chance to read this book and will DEFINITELY be telling everyone to read it!!

Review: Cruel Love by R.G. Angel

Cruel Love Cruel Love by R.G. Angel
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a very quick read that I really enjoyed! I haven't read the other books in the series yet to know if these two pop up at all, but I really enjoyed this introduction to this world.

Caly is way too nice of a person. I would have obliterated Sebastiano's sister and mother. That was six wasted years!

And I'm a bit annoyed Sebastiano waited so long to get Caly, not gonna lie.

But overall, i enjoyed this and glad I dived in to read it!

Review: A Book A Day Presents Color Theory 3: Let Love Live! by A.M. Kusi

A Book A Day Presents Color Theory 3: Let Love Live! A Book A Day Presents Color Theory 3: Let Love Live! by Renita McKinney
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author. This is my honest review.

This review and rating is only for one short story in this anthology : Viewed Truths by A.M. Kusi.

Penelope and Carter are fantastic characters. Both have their own demons they are fighting who actually ended up being the same group of people. I loved their spicy introduction and how they connected almost instantaneously.

As all of my other experiences with A.M. Kusi novels, I was instantly sucked into the story and adored the characters. This could have nev a full length novel and I would have devoured it then too.

I love how both Penelope and Carter grew so much in this story and how they took the reins to make their own futures, rather than having someone else dictate their lives. Very much enjoyed this short story!

Review: The Last Letter by Rebecca Yarros

The Last Letter The Last Letter by Rebecca Yarros
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Holy. Sad. I've read sad books but this may have topped my list. This book started off really really sad. By chapter 5 I was already crying. The ending? It was 100 times worse. I stayed this book crying and ended this book sobbing, no lie. I'm glad I read it, but I will never reread it again.

Ella. This woman. How can one person go through this much grief? Honestly it just keeps hitting her over and over. I couldn't have survived if I were in her shoes. I legit would not be as strong as she was. So I adore her wholeheartedly and just want to hold her hard right now.

Beckett is also an amazing person. What he's gone through, what he knowingly put himself in knowing how Ella will react when she finds out? So brave and selfless. I adore him. I get why Ella got mad but look at his actions, not the information he kept to himself.

Those kids? Havoc? Everything about this book was gutwrenchingly bittersweet. I always had one foot stable waiting for some horrible news but when it happened? I couldn't believe it. Just awful honestly.

So while I loved these characters, I can say with 100% certainty I will never read this book again because that is too much heartbreak for one family to go through. And too much sadness for me to revisit again.

Review: Muses & Melodies by Rebecca Yarros

Muses & Melodies Muses & Melodies by Rebecca Yarros
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It's been awhile since I've read a Rockstar romance and this novel brought me back to why I adore then so much!

I love how determined Zoe is to be the best assistant when keeping her eyes on Nixon. She had everything converted in how to make sure she is there no matter the issue, much to Nixon's dismay.

But when they get to Colorado? That's when the best part happens! And for it to set in Legacy? I'm so glad I read that series first to truly appreciate that town all over again!

I love Zoe. She risked her heart to make Nixon want to get healed fully. That's a sacrifice not a lot of people would make. And I'm glad Nixon had close friends like Quinn and Jason to make him see reason when he's stuck in his stubborn head.

This was a great, quick read that I devoured. It also shows just how talented Rebecca Yarros is in all of the different genres she can write and that I'm still over here wanting to consume more.

Review: The Things We Leave Unfinished by Rebecca Yarros

The Things We Leave Unfinished The Things We Leave Unfinished by Rebecca Yarros
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Rebecca Yarros is a wicked good writer. I usually don't enjoy 2 couples stories but this was done so beautifully I didn't mind at all switching from one setting to another.

The first characters is Scarlett and Jameson. These two are my favorite of the couples, not gonna lie. From the moment they met until the last page I was enchanted by their story and their reactions to each other. In a time so dark in their world, they found each other and knew what small chance they had to find it again. The way they clung to each other and loved each other was breathtaking. I loved everything about their story until the ending.

And that ending?? I was getting full body goosebumps, crying, shaking my head. We already knew it was a sad ending but when everything was revealed? I was blown away but all of it. I had this magical ending in my head and instead it was nothing like I was envisioning and I loved being so surprised by everything.

And then we have Scarlett and Jameson's great granddaughter Georgia and Noah's story. This was I also enjoyed too, especially because of how tough Georgia is and how determined Noah is. I loved their meeting in the bookstore and I love Noah's spontaneous decisions he makes. They have that same spark her great grandparents had and I loved seeing it in action.

And I loved seeing Georgia learn to trust again. Between her ex and her mother, she's not had a lot of people in her life that she can rely on. I honestly want to strangle her mother. She's a devious, selfish person who deserves all kinds of horrible things.

So yeah, safe to say, I'm obsessed with this book, all the feelings it gave me, and this author. I'm quickly getting all the feels through Rebecca's books and I'm loving every second of it. I can't wait to go on another emotional rollercoaster with another book up next!

Review: Forget Me Not by Julie Soto

Forget Me Not Forget Me Not by Julie Soto
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is probably one of the first books I've bought without read purely because I loved the cover (and I found a signed copy at my indie bookstore).  For the most part, I enjoyed this book, but if I had read it before buying a copy, I probably wouldn't have bought it.

My main issue was with Ama.  She's kind of a brat, honestly.  The way she treated Elliot throughout their whole fling was pretty awful, but Elliot was just stunned by her and took the treatment she gave him.  I get that she acted the way she did because of her mother and witnessing how she treats relationships, but I just didn't like Elliot being treated that way when he is such a sweetheart.  Grumpy and socially awkward, but a sweetheart none the less.

Elliot is what saved this book for me, honestly.  He's like me in the way that he doesn't want to be around people, but an inanimate object like flowers (books for me).  He has such a creative brain to create the wonderful things he does and he doesn't need to people.  But when he comes in contact with Ama, his brain short circuits and he's just memorized by her it seems.  Which is awesome, until she treats him like a stranger and he's been pining away for her.

Overall I'm glad I read it.  Wished I loved it a little bit more, but I did enjoy it and I loved a lot of the side characters.  Whitney and honestly Hazel I could have done without, along with Ama haha, but overall it was a decent story!

Review: Reason to Believe by Rebecca Yarros

Reason to Believe Reason to Believe by Rebecca Yarros
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This. Book.  I loved it so so much!  My favorite of the series so far, which is saying something because I don't normally like best-friends-sibling romances.  But honestly?  What won me over?  Liam and James.  Those two got my heartstrings and wouldn't let go from the moment we met them to the last page.  Liam's so protective over James and how he was taking care of him at 5 years old?  Like, I was so emotional about that aspect.  And I despise kids.  But book kids are so freaking amazing and these two have skyrocketed to the top of my favorites, no lie.

And then to see Harper and Knox fall for them even harder than I did?  I was so teary through most of this book when he came to those kids.

Harper and Knox.  I love them both, but why oh why did they both let Ryker dictate the last 7 years of their lives?  I don't care who Ryker is to either of them, if they want a future together, they should have damn well ignored Ryker's ridiculous opinion and told him to get over his own issues.  He was too protective of Harper when she didn't need him to be.  And he was honestly so cruel to Knox for not trusting him enough.  THIS is why I despise best-friends-sibling romances because they don't trust their hearts, but rather their minds on what their best friend is going to say.

However, Liam and James stole the show in this book for me, and how adorable the whole family was.  The ending was bittersweet, I'm so glad things worked out, but it definitely didn't go the way I was imagining and I was very sad about it haha.

I am loving reading all of Rebecca's books and can't wait to dive into the next one on my list!

Review: Ignite by Rebecca Yarros

Ignite Ignite by Rebecca Yarros
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

River and Avery are fantastic characters.  They both have been through so much, yet they are GOOD people.  I love that River will always want to be with Bishop.  Like they don't have to live with each other, but he has to live in the same town as him and work with him.  That sibling connection is hard to come by.  And his adoration toward Avery?  Swooon!  I love that he fell first, even though he kept it to himself for years.  This is the bane of my existence with friends-to-lovers because the amount of time they could have been together as a couple always blows my mind.

Avery is an amazing person.  Going through the abuse she is taking every day from her father is hard.  She was only focused on her sister Addy and not really looking at the big picture of what she could actually do to make things better, but Avery is a fighter.  I just wish she fought the right battle so she didn't struggle for so many years.  But that ending when everything clicked for her was probably my most favorite scene.

Loved these two characters and their story and can't wait to dive into the next couple's novel!

Review: Fall of Ruin and Wrath by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Fall of Ruin and Wrath Fall of Ruin and Wrath by Jennifer L. Armentrout
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and NetGalley.  This is my honest review.

This first book in a new series by Jennifer L. Armentrout entrapped me from page one until the last page!  I honestly had no idea what it was about, but JLA is an auto buy, auto dive into her books without knowing a thing, because I always consume her books and love them immensely.  This was definitely no different!

Lis is such a different FMC than most of JLA's characters.  Her confidence in her abilities is fascinating to me because she is using them to make sure she can have a future that's comfortable.  She may not like everything about her surroundings, but she's learned the very hard way that life can be difficult and she's not about to give up her lifestyle anytime soon.  But she's also clever and smart and brave, which is exactly like JLA's FMC.

The MMC is so mysterious and intense.  We don't even learn of his name until WELL into the book, and I didn't even care.  Every time he was on the page with Lis, I was on pins and needles because the attraction between these two?!  Off the charts, kept me anticipating every action they both made.  Also, the spice in this book?  Extreme.  Like. E.X.T.R.E.M.E.  I was so surprised at 1. how much there was in book one, but also 2. how normal it flowed in the story.  It's like the lifestyle of this world has normalized it which was fascinating to me.

I also really liked when the MMC explained the history of their world.  It literally gave me goosebumps to envision what he was explaining and how devastating those events must have been.  It definitely put a different vibe into their current surroundings for me after that moment.

The ending?  THE ENDING??  It's a cliffhanger.  It's not a terrible cliffhanger.  But it of course left me wanting more and I didn't have more.  I need to know what happens next??  So much build up toward that moment only to be abruptly ended.  Rude.  But now I almost want to go back and re-read everything after having more details in my mind.

I adored this new debut series by JLA and I feel like her newer and older fans will dive into this book and not see daylight again until it's finished.  I loved every word and can't wait to see what is in store for these characters.

Review: The Love Plot by Samantha Young

The Love Plot The Love Plot by Samantha Young
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and NetGalley. This is my honest review.

As always, I devoured this Samantha Young novel and fell in love with her new characters, Star and Rafe. These two are so so different from each other and I absolutely loved seeing them be with each other.

Star's life style freaks me out, personally, but I love that she loves it. She's good at it. She THRIVES in it. And that makes me so happy for her. And to bring that uniqueness into Rafe's life was fantastic.

Rafe may have been backed into a corner when he came up with his idea, but I'm glad he got to experience the amazingness that is Star. And honestly things would have done so much another is Pippa could just keep her nose in her own problems instead of causing issues for others.

Also? I think Star would be a fantastic bookseller... just saying, as a career choice, she would be amazing at that.... ;)

I'm so glad I got the chance to read this story and I can't wait for more by Samantha Young!

Review: Take Me Now by J.H. Croix

Take Me Now Take Me Now by J.H. Croix
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Wildfire Marketing PR.  This is my honest review.

I always adore J. H. Croix's small town Alaskan stories, and I loved Farrah and Cooper's story!  They are both so broken at the beginning of this journey and very cynical when it comes to love, but they can't deny the attraction they immediately have with each other.  I also love how Humphry brought them together, though with a town as small as theirs, plus being neighbors, it was only a matter of time before they met and started their journey.

Cooper's ex is downright ridiculous and I'm glad she got what was coming for her.

Farrah's past is sad and I honestly don't blame her for wanting the future she envisioned before Cooper because living in that kind of a household really shapes your character in a different way.  I'm just glad she found Cooper and was able to be open about starting a future with him, warily as she was.

I also loved the friendships in this book, along with Farrah restarting a relationship with her mother.  Those were sweet moments.

I'm glad I got the chance to read this novel and continue the series!

Review: Twisted Hearts by Jagger Cole

Twisted Hearts Twisted Hearts by Jagger Cole
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Valentine PR. This is my honest review.

I am stunned at how much I loved these characters. The amount of depth we go into for each of them and how we find our their true selves is fascinating. The author really gave us readers a book filled with character development!

Gavin has so much going inside of him about 1,000 different things, but yet is so calm and cool on the outside. But when you dangle Eilish in front of him, how control breaks so quickly and we see a sliver of who Gavan REALLY is. I absolutely loved it!

Elisha is the biggest surprise though because she is a fantastic actor on playing the good, sweet, almost naive girl. But she has so many secrets she's kept bottled inside. And when she's with Gavan everything is out in the open and she can finally explore the party of her she's kept locked in and really flourish!

Jagger Cole never fails to give a fantastic book full of twists, turns, spice, intensity. Everything that makes me devour his books in hours because I just can't get enough! So glad I inhaled this masterpiece and can't wait to see what will be next!
