Review: Chosen Gods by G. Bailey

Chosen Gods Chosen Gods by G. Bailey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author. This is my honest review.

So much happened! I adore Kit and Michael. Mads is pretty awesome for being the only human in this group. Plus she has had to go through so much than a human usually does, and she kept her cool. What happened with her at the end is stunning and I know Karma will find a way to make things right.

The new characters in this book are downright evil and despicable. They got what they deserved and I loved every second of it. I loved that she got to say "Karmas a b*!@h" - I've been waiting for that!

The situation with her guys is a bit much. Storm needs to get over himself and Seth needs to start saying what's on his mind. Killian is the only one doing everything right in my eye. But I love how things progressed slowly with all 4 of them and they got to know each other within time.

I'm really glad I got to read this and I'm really excited to see how everything gets fixed! And to see Karma kick some butt!

Review: Imprisoned Gods by G. Bailey

Imprisoned Gods Imprisoned Gods by G. Bailey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author. This is my honest review.

I've heard so much about Karma and how everyone loved her story when it first came out, so I was really excited to get this novel!

I felt like the beginning was a bit slow to get into, but once Karma got herself in a bit of a pickle (okay, maybe a lot) things picked up and really got interesting.

I loved Killian, Seth, and Storm. My absolutely favorite, though, would have to be Jade and I'm a bit upset about that... :(

There is a TON of unknowns in this novel. So many secrets, which is driving me bonkers because I just NEED to know what will happen!

I'm so glad Kit got a bigger role in this story - I was hoping that he would be more useful than eating food under a bed lol.

I'm excited and intrigued to see what is going to come next!

Review: Baby Secret by Alexis Winter

Baby Secret Baby Secret by Alexis Winter
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author. This is my honest review.

I'm seriously loving the Slade Brothers series! I really liked Autumn in this book. She is strong, brave, and determined. I can't imagine the last 5 years she's had to endure, but for her to finally say enough and do something to leave that toxic environment.

Autumn and Clay's relationship is interesting. Autumn definitely tried to stop things from happening between them, but she caved in. Things heated between them too fast, I thought, and I'm surprised Autumn trusted a person that much, that fast.

I loved Bryce. He was much wiser than 5 years old and he was so observant. I can't wait to see what trouble he gets into!

I'm really glad I got a chance to read this eARC novel and I cannot wait for more!

Review: Fighting for Us by Claire Kingsley

Fighting for Us Fighting for Us by Claire Kingsley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author. This is my honest review.

I definitely called it...Grace was the one chasing after Asher during this whole novel. I'm all for a strong willed female who knows what she wants and is too stubborn to back down. But chasing after a guy who can't emote the same passion and feelings is just... sad to me.

Asher has really bad demons he's fighting, I get that. But you know what, so does Grace. She went through something traumatic as well and that didn't stop her from living.

I can't imagine what either one of these characters has gone through, so I shouldn't be judgmental, but they needed to communicate to one another. Grace did a pretty good job, but Asher was determined to keep it all bottled in, which is just not the right thing to do.

Thank goodness for Gran. If it wasn't for her and her magic ways, those Baileys would be wild animals.

I love Ashers brothers so much. The one I'm extremely curious about is Evan. He is a loner, a recluse, and he's got problems. I want to know what they are and what woman is going to help him through his issues. He's always been the one I'm intrigued about the most. Gavin would be the second one I want to know more about.

I feel like I've just added ANOTHER author to my "I-HAVE-TO-READ" list! I'm really glad i got a chance to read this eARC and I'm looking forward to more by Claire Kingsley!

Review: Protecting You by Claire Kingsley

Protecting You Protecting You by Claire Kingsley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author. This is my honest review.

This is my first book by this author and I definitely loved what I read! I may have to go read the companion series to see some connections between characters, but I certainly want confused during this book at all.

I loved the Bailey brothers. They all have their quirkiness and hilarious moments. I loved how honest Asher was with his feelings for Grace. Once he realized he had a chance it was game over for Grace. He knew what he wanted and he knew he had a shot, so he went all in.

Seeing them finally be together after years of keeping silent was great, and it shows that true love still prevails.

Though that terrible thing that happened at the end was gut wrenching and I about lost it because I can't read about that subvert. I don't blame Archer at all for what he did, but it has a terrible cost.

I have a feeling the next book is going to be Grace chasing after Asher this time, which I'm not a fan of, but hopefully I'm wrong.

I'm really glad I got a chance to read this eARC and got to experience this author for the first time, and I'm looking forward to more!

Review: Her Rough Mechanic by Jagger Cole

Her Rough Mechanic Her Rough Mechanic by Jagger Cole
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I'm caught up! This was my last Jagger Cole book  until more are released :)

Sadly, it wasn't my favorite, but it got better toward the end. Annabelle is a real, downright nasty person at the beginning of this novel. And I have no idea why Rowan would be attracted to her as a person with the way she treated him. Sure, he can like how she looks, but to be treated like a bug? Definitely not an attractive quality.

Then the two of them do the naked nasties and everything is right in the world. Anna lost her terribleness out of nowhere and she was an actual decent person. But I still can't forget her initial reaction to life so that will always sour my viewpoint of her.

I liked Rowan but for the life of me, I cannot figure out what he sees in Anna... oh well, I'll get over this... someday!

I'm glad I discovered Jagger Cole and I'm on the lookout for more books by this author!

Review: Next Door Daddy by Jagger Cole

Next Door Daddy Next Door Daddy by Jagger Cole
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Lacey and Logan's story was good. I think they jumped from neighbors to lovers pretty quickly, but the reader only got a blip of their story of their encounters so that's probably why I feel that way.

I loved when they admitted their feelings, though I'm more into the guy being more initiative than the girl. Lacey had to be the one making all of the decisions, though, because Logan was not going to cross that line... like ever.

I'm glad I read this book to continue my Jagger Cole binge. Just one more book and I'll be all caught up!

Review: Hot Mess by Emma Harr

Hot Mess Hot Mess by Emma Hart
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author. This is my honest review.

This was such a fun, quick read, but about a very serious topic. Elle really handled her situation well, if you ask me. She went off the grid and collected her rights without making any rash decision. Though not telling anyone where she went was maybe not the best decision, truthfully.

I loved seeing Elle, a person who's life is completely online, go to a town where she didn't do any interaction with the online world. So many people in today's culture are stuck online. They don't know how to go outside and live for the moment, rather than live for the next YouTube video. So this was a refreshing story along those lines!

I think Theo's character is full of greatness. A British, single dad, living in the South... you can't get any wider than that! But he's a great guy and a fantastic dad. He was a heel to Elle at the beginning but he was protecting his daughter, so how can you blame him?

I loved Blaire, and Charity and the 3 old women - seriously they cracked me up so much throughout this novel! It added much needed comedy throughout this very deep, serious topic.

I also really appreciated how Theo and Elle didn't automatically jump into a physical relationship, even though both their attracting was obvious. They didn't want to make things harder in case it didn't end up on the right track. Most of the times, the characters don't think about consequences or they just don't care. Theo and Elle are different though.

And the epilogue? Totally made me cry, it was so sweet!

I really enjoyed this novel and I'm so glad I got a chance to read this eARC! It is a must read, and a story I won't forget anytime soon!

Review: Rage and Ruin by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Rage and Ruin Rage and Ruin by Jennifer L. Armentrout
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Edelweiss. This is my honest review.

Being bonded to Zayne is problematic for Trinity. Protectors and their Trueborns are forbidden to be in a relationship with each other, which is where Trinity and Zayne were headed. Now, Trinity has slammed on the breaks, even though it just about kills her. Throw in the fact they can both feel each other's feelings, and hello awkward moments...

And then there's the Harbinger. Trying to discover who this is and what their goal is has been a struggle. Some clues lead to others, but many lead to dead ends. Trinity can't help but feel everything is going to explode at once, but she has no control without any information.

Then throw in Layla and Stacey, Roth and Co. and things are just escalating. Plus how things... ended... with Misha? Trinity's rage isn't going to stay bottled up for long. And the big reveal? Trinity didn't see that coming at all...

I say this every time Jennifer L. Armentrout releases a book and I'll keep saying it over and over: I LOVED THIS BOOK! I don't know how she does it, but JLA has created another masterpiece and completely sucked me into this world. She made me fall for each and every character, and broke my heart more times than I liked. But also made my heart race for every intense scene between Trinity and Zayne.

I seriously wanted to strangle this two love birds. They avoided each other, had close encounters, and honestly had great self restraint to not succumb to their intense feelings, which both could feel from each other, mind you. I was tense with anticipation, only to be thoroughly disappointed. But when they did give in? It was magical.

During the whole book, I tried very hard to come up with many people who could be the Harbinger. I wanted to not be shocked, like JLA tends to do to me. While I wasn't shocked,  I also did not figure out out before the big reveal.  What did shock me was the very, very end, which is what the intention was, I'm sure.

I loved the moment Trinity and Zayne had their deep, painful, intense, real conversation. It was heartbreaking, enlightening, true. They left everything on the table and aired our their dirty  laundry. I enjoy those scenes because true thoughts and feelings are finally released after being bottled up for so long.

I also loved seeing a lot of Roth and Layla and the rest of the gang. It wouldn't be the same if they were missing, and JLA gave us many moments of them.

And, as always, I am anxiously awaiting the next book already. I'm so curious how things are going to move forward and I'm sure there will be many more surprises in the future. I'm waiting to see what part Peanut and Gina have too!

Thank you again for an amazing novel, Jennifer L. Armentrout, and I'll be waiting with forced patience for the next novel!

Review: Storm and Fury by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Storm and Fury Storm and Fury by Jennifer L. Armentrout
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I just re-read this since I have book 2 on my kindle, and I'm in just a much awe and amazement as I was the first time I read it. My review below perfectly explains my current feelings, and I can't wait to see what book 2 is going to bring.

Knowing Jennifer L. Armentrout, it's going to bring everything and leave me wanting for more!  ;)

Review from March 20, 2019:
I received this eARC novel from the author and from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

Trinity's life is different. She lives with the Wardens, but she is not a Warden. She trains like a Warden, but most in her community think that she's a human. She's not just a human. Trinity is one of the last of her kind, but she cannot let anyone know what she is. Not the Wardens, who might think she's an abomination. Not the humans, who can't comprehend what exactly she is. And definitely not the demons, for they would do anything to get their hands on her.

Trinity is just waiting for the day that her father will summon her to use her greatest weapon to stop a certain event. What the event is? She has no idea.

Things get a little complicated, though, when 3 Wardens show up. No one - never - comes to their community, so the fact that 3 new people are there, welcomed, makes Trinity go into spy mode to figure out what is happening. And that's when she bumped into Zayne, an interesting Warden with his own secrets to hide.

When Trinity's protector, Misha, gets taken by an upper level demon, Trinity is making it her mission to get her protector, but more importantly her friend, back. And to do that, she is leaving with Zayne. Trinity has always wanted to travel, but this was not what she had in mind.

The longer Trinity is away from her home, the more secrets are revealed. Not only about her, but about everything in her life. By the end of her journey, Trinity will wonder what was real and what wasn't...

Oh man. I was a little hesitant about this book. Not because I thought I wouldn't like it (it's JLA, I'll always love it!) but because it was about Zayne and I was totally Team Roth in the previous series. I was just hoping that I would find a way to connect with Zayne, but I shouldn't have worried because Armentrout was able to make me fall in love with Zayne almost as much as I love Roth. Trinity is a great fit for him, and I'm so glad that the storyline went in this direction because it is so great!!

I wish we were able to get Zayne's viewpoint throughout the novel, because I'm sure what he was thinking about Trinity would have been amazing. Zayne is such a good guy, but Trinity pushed him past some dark secrets and really tested his boundaries. It would have been amazing to see what he was thinking about her during those times.

Also, with Trinity's eye disease, which JLA also has. I really thought Armentrout did an amazing job explaining it in a way for readers to understand this rare eye disease. I can't imagining going through that process, and when Trinity freaked out when Zayne essentially blocked all vision - that would be me everyday thinking about the future not being able to see. That is my worst fear - losing my vision, and Armentrout was really brave for making her main character have something so personal to her life.

I'm so glad I didn't let me hesitance stop me from reading this book, because now I need to know more and more about what is going to happen to these characters! Fans of JLA and The Dark Elements series is going to LOVE this next installment!

Review: Hard Screw by Jagger Cole

Hard Screw Hard Screw by Jagger Cole
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Sean and Scarlett do not have a very good start when they first meet, but neither can deny their attraction towards the other. I love the fact that Sean really hated the idea of Scarlett at the beginning since she outbidded Sean's dream house. His hatred didn't last long, though, when he finally met her and his lust exploded for her.

As always, Jagger Cole finds a way to write a fast read, full of intense passion, and a conflicting plot. The situation with Martin was messed up but I'm glad Sean was able to save the day.

I'm hoping that the other workers at Tuff Built will get their own story?!? Jackson?? That is my hope!

I'm glad I got to read this and now I'm on my way to reading my other Jagger Cole novels that I bought :)

Review: Big Deck by Jagger Cole

Big Deck Big Deck by Jagger Cole
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Jagger Cole may be a new author for me, but I am loving his novels! They are short, steamy, and pack a punch with their unique storylines.

I love Heather and Hollis. Heather is going through a terrible situation of a crazy stalker, though it gets more intense than that by the end of the book.

And the attraction between these two? Whoo! It sparked instantly and they did not waste ANY time haha.

I love Hollis. He acts like a burly, growls man but the way he acts around Heather just makes me melt. He is so protective of her and he can't keep his hands off of her.

I also loved the decription of Heather's house in Colorado! I would live there in a heartbeat if it didn't snow constantly there!

I'm so glad I stumbled into this author and I'm gonna devour more books by him! But I really enjoyed this story!

Review: Hissy Fit by Lani Lynn Vale

Hissy Fit Hissy Fit by Lani Lynn Vale
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a great novel! Raleigh is just a mess... i can't imagine living her accident prone life. And going to the doctor constantly? No thank you. I also feel terrible for how she was treated when she was younger, and even when she's an adult. She's had a lot of bad things happened to her - especially with that terrible student?!?

But I have to say, She. Never. Gives. Up. And I am in awe of her for that. I wouldn't have blamed her if she just gave up, but that's just not Raleigh. And I'm so glad she's a fighter and she's there for her friends and students.

Now, Ezra. Initially I loved how he finally saw Raleigh and needed to know more about her. But then I started thinking about how terrible that is. He's literally been in her orbit for HIS WHOLE LIFE. And he noticed her when he drops a box of condoms on her face, causing a nose bleed? Then he becomes obsessed with her? I don't know. The more I think about it, the worse it's becoming.

There are also 2 other things I didn't like. 1. They had sex for the first time in the bath tub... that's just not something to remember fondly. And it's gross, awkward, and just makes me shudder. 2. The book title... I don't think it's a good title nor did it depict what this book is about. It makes it sound like someone is a prima donna and throws a fit, when the complete opposite actually happens in the book.

I loved, loved,  LOVED the storyline with Mason and Raleigh. That's literally what gave this book a 4 star review instead of a 2.5/3 star. I think that moral, that message, is amazing and when Mason gave his speech at the end? It gave me goosebumps and made me so happy.

So yeah, I entire this book but also had a few issues with it. Overall I'm glad I read it!

Review: Always Hers by Jagger Cole

Always Hers Always Hers by Jagger Cole
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author. This is my honest review.

I adored this story. I loved Aurora and Carter - they were so intense during the entire novel. I think I worked have been a bit more mad at Carter if he just showed up out of nowhere, but I guess I wouldn't know how I would react if I were in Aurora's shoes.

I think that both guys got really lucky and should count their blessings. And to come out of their ordeal super rich? That's a bonus.

I'm really glad I got a chance to read this and I really liked the action scene at the end of the book. I'm loving this author and just went and bought all of his books on Amazon since they are each just 99 pennies!

Review: Fast & Wild by Kat Ransom

Fast & Wild Fast & Wild by Kat Ransom
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Book Sirens. This is my honest review.

I have read every book in this series thanks to Book Sirens, and I have enjoyed every single one. THIS book, however? I LOVED! It is the best one of the bunch and I have the urge to re-read it already!

Mila and Brodie are fantastic together. We got little glimpses in book 3, but who could have guessed the attraction these two have for each other?!

This book was a bit different because it happened during the same time as Dante and Danica's story did, so we got to see the drama unfold between Dante and Cole again.

Mila's backstory is heartbreaking. Who knew she went through so much at such a young age. You would never have guessed by the way she takes charge with her guys on the field. But the amount of pain she still experiences and how much she hides? It breaks my heart.

I'm glad Brodie bombarded her life the way he did. They compliment each other so well and at the time, Brodie's mellow, calm life is what Mila needed. But they both helped each other through their stubbornness and found a happy medium, which was fantastic. I am never going to forget the scene at Mila's birthday party!!

I am sad this series is over, but I'm so looking forward to future novels by Kat Ransom, and will definitely be in the lookout! This series is a must read for all readers :)

Review: The Two of Us by Kennedy Fox

The Two of Us The Two of Us by Kennedy Fox
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and the publisher. This is my honest review.

This book... I seriously cannot put into words how I feel right now after finishing this novel. The author took our current, real life situation and created a great novel depicting what the world is going through right now. And it was fantastic.

I have not, not do I know anyone who has gotten sick with this virus, so reading about it through this book hit hard. I can't imagine how Cami felt with her brother working in the hospital in New York during this pandemic.

Cami and Elijah are amazing. I love their banner, I love their snark, and I adore the way Eli teaches Cami every day things. Like changing the fire alarm battery and cooking pancakes. I love how independent Cami began became during this crisis. That is a skill that will never fail you.

And I love that Elijah is a manly man, but has a man bun, and also has limitations. All of it worked for him, making him a hard temptation for Cami to avoid.

I'm so glad I got the chance to read this eARC and I'm so excited for Ryan's story next! Readers are really going to love this series, I just know it!

Forever His Forever His by Jagger Cole
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author. This is my honest review.

I am so excited I was able to read this early and meet these characters. This book doesn't mess around and instantly throws you right into the story. I could not have done what Sienna was going to do and marry a complete stranger. Thankfully Luke came and saved her, so she didn't have to go through with it, but I admire her all the same.

The time where Luke and Sienna "catch up" is more physical so the reader may feel like they are missing information. But because these characters knew each other while growing up, there was no "getting to know each other" part.

Overall I enjoyed this novel and the story. But I cannot wait for the next book, as I am intrigued by Carter :)

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is my first book by Jagger Cole, but it definitely won't be my last! I am stunned on how much I loved this book and I flew through it in one sitting, not able to put it down!

I loved how Damien and Olivia met and I seriously loved Damien's reaction to Olivia. Every thought, every reaction, every primal reaction was bursting from the pages.

And I loved how Olivia came up with an alternative idea for her photo shoot that actually makes sense for advertising. She is definitely a keeper for more than one reason!

I am so glad I was able to read this book and now I'm going to back track through all of Jagger Cole's novels!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author. This is my honest review.

Coming back home after college and staying with her parents was not Breanna's plan, but her she is. When Colton Slade's as about being a full time nanny to his 2 year old daughter, Milly, she goes for it.

Colton thinks Breanna is inexperienced, young, but really he has this intense attracting toward her that he hasn't felt since his wife died 2 years ago. He doesn't want to be tempted, but he can't deny how well she takes care of Milly.

Soon their attraction becomes so intense they cave, but many factors are trying to keep them apart...

I really liked this book! Colton and Breanna try to avoid what is being between them but it's impossible. I love how Breanna and Milly clicked with each other and Breanna was so good to the Slades. Her ex Nick, is terrible and he got what was coming. Her parents are hypocrites and really annoyed me to no end.

I'm glad I got a chance to read this eARC and I'm looking forward to more books by Alexis Winter!

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I thought this was a cute novel. Sofia and Cal have an instant attraction but Sofia is having to make a tough life decision.

All I have to say is this book seriously explains the importance of communication between two people. Because a lot of problems would have been avoided if the whole truth had come out at the beginning.

I'm glad I got a chance to read this. Very fast, read with a lot of steam.

Review: Silence by G. Bailey

Silence Silence by G. Bailey
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author. This is my honest review.

I loved this so much! I loved the sacrifices Kaitlyn makes, even though they don't go according to plan. I love how she met Myles and how loyal he instant was to her. And Kaitlyn is still struggling between "good" and "evil" even though this book is breaking down barriers when it comes to those two definitions.

I'm really intrigued to find out how these issues are fixed in book 3 and how Kaitlyn is going to get out of the situation she finds herself in at the end of this book.

Also,  I how Riley suffered. I don't care how, but I have an immense hatred for him.

I'm so glad I got a chance to read this and I CANNOT WAIT for more!

Review: Descend by G. Bailey

Descend Descend by G. Bailey
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I LOVED this book!  Kaitlyn is amazing and this unique storyline is out of this world.

I love that Kaitlyn is drawn to the dark side and doesn't feel remorse or guilt about it. I love how she intrigued by Henry, because I definitely am. Ren is a mystery that keeps getting more and more mysterious. And Thallon is yummy.

Riley is a dick and I can't stand him. From the first chapter I've had a creep vibe from him. Vas is the bestest friend and I'm glad Kaitlyn has a close friend she can trust in this really crazy place full of enemies.

Angels are not as angelic as they seen to be and this academy proves that.

This universe G. Bailey created with this series and the Demon Academy series is becoming my absolute favorite and I'm kicking myself for not having read the Tales series first. Oh well, I'll get there eventually haha.

I am definitely recommending this to everyone I know!

Review: Black Tangled Heart by Samantha Young

Black Tangled Heart Black Tangled Heart by Samantha Young
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author. This is my honest review.

Jane and Jamie's story gutted me. I went through every emotion and it was intense. Every emotion made me FEEL. Every happy thing made me fly through the roof. Every sad thing brought me to tears. And every part that angered me made me livid. I am emotional drained after this book.

I have read every book in this series and I can honestly say this is my favorite by miles. I can't explain why. The connection between Jane and Jamie is phenomenal. The friendship and then relationship was of the walls and I just FELT everything.

I have an immense hatred for Lorna. I appreciate that she befriended Jane when they were younger, but that is the ONLY good thing she did. Otherwise she was a downright selfish biatch and she got what was coming for. Actually she deserved worse, but it is what it is. And Skye... my heart broke when everything happened and I am so glad she accepted Jane into the family when Jane had no one.

Jamie is INTENSE and I loved every minute of it. I love that he is very manly, but also has a soft side where he loves to read and write. Bit many guys I've met are like that, and I find it very appealing!

I loved loved loved this book and I can see myself rereading it many times. Part 1 was sweet and part 2 was intense and everything was just fantastic. Thank you Samantha Young for letting me read this eARC and also for writing an amazing novel that I got sucked into!

Review: Kiss King by Mickey Miller

Kiss King Kiss King by Mickey Miller
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is my second book I've read from Mickey Miller, and my lowest review of his books. I really wanted to love it as much Hate Mates, but I've come to realize that the friends-to- lovers stories are not my favorite.

During the whole book, both Grant and Maya ignore what their bodies and emotions are telling them, and stick with the "I don't want to ruin my amazing friendship with the other"... And it just frustrated me to no end! Then they decide to "explore" and have no strings, because things would be awkward on campus and with their friends reactions... I mean, come on! Just admit you like each other and grow up!

So it was a lot of that during this book and it took me far too long to finish it. This isn't too easy I didn't like it, but I definitely wasn't in love with it like I wanted to be.

However, that will not do me from reading more of Miller's novels as I have 4 or 5 books of his waiting on my kindle.

Also, I'm super, super, super excited for April's novel! I can see great things between her and Mason (I really how she ends up with him!!!)
