Review: The Penalty Shot by Maren Moore

The Penalty Shot The Penalty Shot by Maren Moore
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author.  This is my honest review.

I've been along for the whole journey of Totally Pucked, but I seriously think this book goes above and beyond the other ones.  Asher is 100% swoon-worthy and I was seriously stunned at how much I loved him!  He wears his heart on his sleeve and really explains what he's feeling every second.  Thank goodness I finally found a book where the characters are honest, open, and don't want to keep secrets from each other.

This book was perfect from page 1 to the last because it was all about growing together, learning everything about each other, and just making each other a better person because the other one was in their lives.  I don't think I'm articulating this correctly, but it was just an amazing novel.

Asher surprised me with his openness from the beginning.  And when he was around Auden and Alex more, it just got better and better.  I loved that he helped Auden grow into an even strong, more vocal and opinionated woman than she already was.  She needed someone like Asher to be there and help her express what she really wants in herself and in life.  Being around her toxic parents, or even not being around them, really made her shield her wants and needs, so to see her open up and start to believe in a happily ever after was pure amazingness.

Also, Asher with Alex?  I love their relationship and I love how amazing that little boy is.  He honestly is so much more mature than his age and how he really loves his mom so much.  When they had family conversations, Alex didn't ignore them, but really thought about his answers before giving them.  Alex also grew into a more confident boy and I absolutely know it's because Asher was there to help and guide him along the way.

Also, the spice?  O. M. G.  I was NOT expecting any of that, but it was lighting the pages on fire!  I was holding my breath for each and every scene and I just loved every second of it.

I 100% recommend this book - and all of the other books in the series!  They are amazing stories that leave you completely satisfied with where the characters end up and how their journey only makes them a stronger, amazing person.  I am so glad I got the chance to read this book and I will, of course, be on the look out for more!!

Review: White Collar Brothers: The Complete Series by Piper Rayne

White Collar Brothers: The Complete Series White Collar Brothers: The Complete Series by Piper Rayne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC boxset from the author and Valentine PR.  This is my honest review.

I am very happy I was able to get this boxset and binge through it - and I did it so fast!  There may be 3 books in here, but it took me no time at all to get through them because they are easy, fun reads that had me wanting to know how each story ended.  My individual reviews I wrote for each book are below, but I really enjoyed this series and am always on the lookout for more by Piper Rayne!

Sexy Filthy Boss (#1):
I am slowly making my way through Piper Rayne's novels and when I saw this series as a box set, I couldn't say no. I flew through this book. Lately I haven't been able to read a book in one sitting, but that's exactly what happened with Enzo and Annie's story. I got sucked into their whirlwind romance and really enjoyed it from start to finish!

I really love Annie. She had to make a lot of tough decisions about her career vs. her moral opinions. I definitely think she chose right, but I loved the way she went out fight for what she believed in.

I'm very intrigued to see how Dom and Carm fall and since I have the box set I'm diving right in!

Dirty Flirty Enemy (#2):
Yet another great, fast read for me! I love how I get sucked into these stories and really get emerged into these characters.

Carm is great. He was the slick, bit judgmental little brother in book 1, but I loved seeing him fall hard for Bella. The longer they avoided their attraction, the more obsessed he became about Bella. And I fully expect Enzo to make fun of him more since Carm nagged at him so much.

Bella is great. She went through a really traumatic event in her past but you never would have guessed seeing her now. I love how kind she is but kept thinking she needs to grow a back bone and say no when she wants to say no. She's a people pleaser for sure, but seeing her go head to head with Carm was fantastic.

I am very intrigued to see what Dom's story is after this ending, and will be diving in right away!

Wildy Steamy Hook-Up (#3):
Oh, Dominic. I did love him, but man did he have to be the the most stubborn man on earth? I don't know how Valentina was able to keep her cool throughout all of those years - my anger would have been going through the roof from day one, and this went on for 16+ years!!!

Valentina is a saint, I tell you, dealing with the ups and downs of Dom for that long. She was so brave and determined to try to make the best of things when it didn't go according to plan, and she dotes on her son so much.

I just wanted to bash the heads together of these two through most of the book, though. You can tell they love each other, but the EXCUSES they had were ridiculous and so frustrating for me. Just talk to each other!!

Anywho, I love this family and these stories, and I'm so glad I got the chance to read it! Looking forward to more by this author duo!!

Review: Warped Minds by Elena Lawson

Warped Minds Warped Minds by Elena Lawson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author. This is my honest review.

This book is so intense. I was on pins and needles for the whole novel. So many things happened that my mind is whirling with all of the events!

Ava Jade is one tough chick. She went through so many terrible things in this book, but she NEVER gave up. I can't believe how much of a fighter she is and I know she can survive anything that happens to her in the future.

The guys also went through their own torturous things. This whole cast of characters are tough as nails and I want to be their friend but at the same time, I would like to not live their lifestyle.

Even though Rook is the most unhinged, chaotic of the bunch.... he may have won top spot for my favorite. Then again, Corvus is also really close to being my top favorite. Ugh, it's a tie, I don't think I can pick. And Grey - definitely adore him too, but in a different way. ALL I know is all 3 of them are heads over heels in love with Ava Jade and you can tell in every page of this book.

I'm so glad I decided to take a chance on a new author with book 1 in this series because I quickly fell in love with this story and these characters! And can I just saw, I am SO EXCITED about the spin off series and who is about?!?!?! I'm all for it, 100%!!!

I'm really glad I got the chance to read this novel and I can't wait for more by this author! :)

Review: Seducing the Cowboy by Kennedy Fox

Seducing the Cowboy Seducing the Cowboy by Kennedy Fox
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author. This is my honest review.

Oh so bittersweet, knowing this is the end of this generation of Bishops, but so exciting to finally see Peyton and Kaitlyn fall for each other. But boy was it a ride to get there for these two. They fought tooth and nail, denying any attraction they felt toward one another.

I love how sweet Peyton is. You don't see many great, honestly good guy characters. And usually I don't fall for them, but how could I not fall for Peyton?! He's so kind hearted and easy going and down to earth, and just everything you could ever want in a Guy to fall in love with.

Kaitlyn is a spit fire. I love her energy and tenacious drive to get what she wants. She's had to be a fighter with the Bishop brood, but it's nice to see her get pampered by Peyton and get his full attention.

As always, best friends romance are a bit harder for me to get lost into, but I actually enjoyed this trope really well the way Kennedy Fox wrote it! And I loved seeing the whole Bishop clan again, though at this point it's a little harder to keep everyone straight lol.

I'm so glad I got the chance to read this novel! I'm very excited and intrigued for the next generation novels to come now - especially after that epilogue!!

Review: After We Fall by J. H. Croix

After We Fall After We Fall by J.H. Croix
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Wildfire Marketing Solutions. This is my honest review.

I am so happy I got the chance to read the next installment in this series. I love novel this past of the world in Alaska with their wild moose and bears, even though you will never catch me near any of those animals.

Grant and Hadley's story was great. I think they are both really stubborn and such in their own ways, so they took a bit longer to about their true behind not only to each other, but also to themselves as well.

This also started as a typical best friend's sibling romance where they were hiding their new intimate relationship. Though I do have to give Grant props toward the middle of the book - he impressed me when he had his talk with Diego.

I get Hadley's irritation with her health and everyone focusing on it, but at the same time I'm glad she had people who cared about her to be concerned. She just needed someone to explain that to her.

I'm glad I got the chance to read this book and, as always, I'm looking forward to the next story!

Review: Las Vegas Luck by Nicole Sanchez

Las Vegas Luck Las Vegas Luck by Nicole Sanchez
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author.  This is my honest review.

This was a short and spunky story.  I love how it was about the 4 girls getting to know each other again and just bonding with one another.  Yes, there were spicy moments, but the overall point of this book is about the girls having a fun vacation and also having their moments of life creeping in to ruin their fun vacation.

I am really enjoying this series so far and I'm glad we will be getting more books about these great characters.  I'm very intrigued to see how each of their stories pan out in the upcoming novels!  I'm sure many shenanigan's will happen during those rollercoaster rides!

Very glad I got the chance to read this book and I am looking forward to more :)

Review: Saving Vienna by Vikki Jay

Saving Vienna Saving Vienna by Vikki Jay
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author.  This is my honest review.

I absolutely adore this family!  Zane is such a sweetheart, dealing with a lot of internal judging and always being the quiet, shy one.  I'm so glad we got to get his story and see who he really is when he decides to open up and fully express himself.  He is such an amazing guy who every girl will read about and fall in love and want their own Zane, though there are not as many men out there like him.

And Vienna.  She is such a fighter but also scared to no end.  She had to watch her mom get sick and just that memory makes her terrified she will be living that life.  I honestly don't blame her for just wanting to ignore her sickness and pretend that it wasn't happening, because I would be scared out of my mind too.  Thankfully she had Zane there from step one and he was able to talk her into taking care of herself, no matter what the outcome was going to be.

This whole family - the Teagers and their spouses - have been through some hard times, but seeing them get their HEA is so heartwarming and uplifting.  I love these books - Roses, though, is especially my favorite still though - and I can't wait to read more amazing books by Vikki Jay.  I'm so glad I stumbled into her first book and discovered a rare gem, because now I'm reading her books ASAP whenever they become available, cause I just can't get enough!

Review: My Fake Fiancé by Piper Rayne

My Fake Fiance My Fake Fiance by Piper Rayne
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Valentine PR.  This is my honest review.

I've said it before, and I believe I will keep saying it with each book I read by Piper Rayne - I absolutely, 100% love this book.  Maybe even more than the others, but it's so hard to pick because I love each and every Greene I have come to know through their stories.

Mandi is an amazing person.  She is a people pleaser, always trying to find a way to do everything she can to make life better for the people around her.  But that means she usually doesn't get what she really wants.  I loved seeing her on vacation in Hawaii and she finally did something for herself instead of let her family dictate what she was going to do - and this book of her own story did not disappoint!  You don't see Mandi lose her cool often, but I actually enjoy seeing her let her true feelings out, because that makes her so human and so real to me.

Noah is so dreamy.  I love how he falls for Mandi even though they don't see each other often.  You can feel the chemistry between the two and I love how he makes Mandi feel feminine and beautiful - all the things she is, but doesn't really feel or acknowledges until Noah is around.  I love how he's really sweet, and lets the Greene family kinda steamroll him into taking photos he's not used to, but also starting to really determine how he wants to spend the rest of his life.

Mandi and Noah are so good for each other and really make them question how they want their future to be.  This was an amazing novel, full of laughs, tears, spicy and tender scenes that made me feel full to the brim of emotions!  I'm so so glad I got the chance to read this novel and, of course, I'm already waiting for the next book - especially with those ending sentences!!!

Review: The Right Kind of Trouble by Shiloh Walker

The Right Kind of Trouble The Right Kind of Trouble by Shiloh Walker
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

**THIS REVIEW WILL HAVE SPOILERS AT THE END. DO NOT READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE SPOILED!!**

I gotta say, after seeing Moira and Gideon through book 1 and 2, it was nice to get their story finally. Though I feel like Moira needed to do A LOT more groveling and apologizing than what she did. I get she was traumatized, but Gideon had been waiting around for 18 years. He deserved more of an apology, in my opinion.

I loved so getting to see and get the previous characters viewpoint throughout the whole series. I just wish that their viewpoints were labeled cause it was hard to keep up with the change bergen between each one.

**SPOILERS**

I 100% KNEW IT WAS CHARLES SINCE BOOK 2!!!!!! I knew it! There were too many hints that have him away. What other character had a house or used to live in London? Who else could have possibly been connected with William? Who had been around the 2 McKays to know them, but didn't know Neve is terrified of needles? I guessed really early on and stuck to my prophecy, so I am really happy that I am right!

I'm glad I got the chance to read this series finally. I really enjoyed it as a whole and all of the mystery and romance was a nice balance of each other.

Review: The Trouble with Temptation by Shiloh Walker

The Trouble with Temptation The Trouble with Temptation by Shiloh Walker
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley.  This is my honest review.

I'm enjoying the mystery in these books, and I'm 70% sure I know who the killer is.  I think.  There are so many characters in these books, I have been thrown around a lot, but I'm going to stick with my suspect and see if I'm right haha.

Brannon seriously ticked me off.  Why couldn't he tell Hannah what happened.  Be upfront, honest, and truthful.  Feelings change, but past choices don't and he needed to fess up to it.

Hannah is a true fighter.  Her past is so sad to read about, but I love that she fought back and she doesn't let anyone walk all over her or bully her - or anyone else for that matter!  She is going to be a fantastic mom.

I'm very intrigued to see how things go for Moira, but honestly, I want to see if my suspect is right.  Diving into the final book now!

Review: Headed for Trouble by Shiloh Walker

Headed for Trouble Headed for Trouble by Shiloh Walker
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

There were a lot of things I appreciated about this book, the first being, it was an unique take on best friends sibling. I usually can't stand these storyline because there are so many secrets and sneaking around. In this book, though, Ian was 100% upfront with Brannon about him and Neve, AND Brannon didn't make him feel guilty!! It was how most of these storylines should go! So I was very very happy about that.

I saw a lot of reviews complaining about the multiple viewpoints and stories. I actually liked that, though I wish the chapters were named with the person's name of who's viewpoint is was. I was able to figure it out, but since we're a bit harder.

I loved seeing Neve get back to her usually sassy self, and I loved for Ian was so in tune with her.

I really enjoyed this story and I'm very intrigued to see how book 2 goes!

Review: Star-Crossed Dragons by Chris Cannon

Star-Crossed Dragons Star-Crossed Dragons by Chris Cannon
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

I've been holding off on this book even though I really enjoyed Bryn's story. I just knew this was a forbidden love and would have a lot of secrets and sneaking around. I can handle a little bit of that, but knowing the history of these two characters, I knew this world be almost all of the book.

It was nice to see how things progressed between Sara and Ian. I loved how rebellious Sara was and how she wasn't a true Blue. She is a great actress though!

I'm glad I finally got around to reading this additional installment to a really good series.
