Review: Enigma by RuNyx

Enigma Enigma by RuNyx
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from Edelweiss. This is my honest review.

This is the second book I've read by this author, and I've seen a ton of people rave about this authors books and I've always been intrigued. Overall I enjoyed this story. It was a rough start for me, very slow and I almost gave up but wanted to see how it ended. And it did get a bit better to allow me to finish. I got a ton of Wednesday Addams vibes from the main character, which I enjoyed.

Caz was an intriguing character and I'm glad we got a few chapters with his viewpoint. I also like that Salem grew more into herself and allowed her to open up to more people in her life. Her childhood was full of a void when it came to love and affection.

I'm glad i got the chance to read this book!

Review: Black Ties & White Lies by Kat Singleton

Black Ties & White Lies Black Ties & White Lies by Kat Singleton
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I decided to read this book because a book box is doing a SE to see if I wanted that version. And while I really liked this story, I don't need a SE so yay for saving money but yay for reading a pretty darn good book!

I love Margo. She's feisty, but dealing with a wounded heart and she's not ready to deal with another Sinclair brother who will more than likely break her once again. I love that she has hopes and dreams, but that she was stuck in a crummy job due to the ex in her life. Seeing her thrive in New York and loving the culture and world there was fantastic.

Beck is so...extra, and I loved it. In order to get Margo's attention, he buys the company that she's employed with. Like, seriously? Can you get any more spoiled than that? Then to make Margo go to New York because he "promoted" her to work for him while he wooed her... I mean, I loved how extra he was, but do people really do those kinds of things? Also? If I were Margo? I would have quit my job if I was put into that type of situation because no one, no how!

I think the communication between these two was rough and agonizing most times. They fought so much just because they didn't want to cave first about whatever subject they were talking about. I mean, the tension was crazy, but come on. At some point just gain some confidence and let everything out.

So, yeah, this was enjoyable and I'm glad I read it. I'm very curious about Emma and Winnie and may eventually read their stories, but this was a good first book by this author for me!

Review: The Wraith King by Juliette Cross

The Wraith King The Wraith King by Juliette Cross
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed Firebird by this author and wanted to read another book by her so I picked this up. And I definitely enjoyed it!

Una and Goll are such opposites but have this deep connection that cannot be denied. When they first met, both were so broken by their circumstances, but together they managed to escape their unfortunate fate. And with that moment they sparked the new future of their world and unlocked so many doors that were destined to open.

I really loved seeing both of them fall for each other and to learn that they can make their own rule in this new world they were creating.

This was a great story and I'm glad I decided to read it!

Review: The Wind Weaver by Julie Johnson

The Wind Weaver The Wind Weaver by Julie Johnson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This review will obtain spoilers for the storyline.

I got a SE of this book and needed to read to decide if I would keep it or not. Good for me, but bad for my shelves, I loved it and could not put it down! It's been awhile since I've read a book on a 24 hour time frame and now I'm sad I've finished this novel but don't have the next book to continue the journey.

Rhya is a fantastic woman. She is so caring and kind, always wanting to help anyone around her. She's a healer, she was trained to live out on the wild if needed. She was not prepared for the chilling judgemental life of court, but she adapts to her surroundings quickly.

When she got captured, she didn't fall to hystericals, but was alert and always trying to find a way to get free. When Penn got her, she also didn't freak out, but observed as much as she could to learn what was going on. I love her witty personality. I cannot wait until she masters her wind magic and becomes a kickass woman!

Penn is so frustrating. I get he has control issues over his fire magic, and he has to control his feelings, but he is so stoic and cold most of the times. Don't think I didn't love him, though, because I do, but he is definitely a hard character to crack. I wish we could have gotten into his head a few times to just see what he was thinking and feeling.

Soren? This man intrigues me. He definitely has control and I hope he can train Rhya to get a better handle on her wind power. But let's not get confused. I want Soren to train her but I do ship Rhya and Penn 100%! Though I'm sure this will become a love triangle situation, as much as I hate those stories.

Also? The earth remnant? I bet those earthquakes happening on and off? Definitely that character. And I bet it's a female. Just doing my early predictions now!

So glad I got around to reading this and can't wait for the next installment!

Review: The Feud by Mickey Miller

The Feud The Feud by Mickey Miller
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author. This is my honest review.

Faith and Hunter's story is a true Romeo and Juliet plot, but spicier and deeper. And I loved seeing their characters grow the more they interacted.

Faith has been the good girl all her life, following her dad's rules and going through the motions he created for her with a fiance to boot. But I'm glad she finally realized that Keith was a jerk and he was her father's future, not what she wanted. Seeing her take charge of her life by making decisions SHE wants to do was so empowering and strong. I loved seeing her make decisions without first wondering "what would my father say".

And Hunter has so many personalities from being shy vs dominate, humble vs bragging, and controlling vs petrified. I'm sure it was because he grew up loving one way and then getting famous once he started playing professional ball, but this man gave me whiplash a few times. But the best part? He is so in tuned with Faith and only wants the best for her, which I adored.

So glad I got the chance to read the end to this series! It was great seeing past characters and meet new characters! And yet again another great novel by Mickey Miller!

Review: Fated to the Feral Wolf by April L. Moon

Fated to the Feral Wolf Fated to the Feral Wolf by April L. Moon
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed Shay and Dirge's story. Seeing Dirge go unferal because he found his mate and the fear he had over losing her was a lot of emotions. Shay was also haunted by her past and didn't realize what it meant to everyone around her that she helped them through a terrible sitution.

It was nice to be immersed with all the characters from book 1 and continue on the story about Brielle's shifting issues. Glad I decided to read this story!

Review: Fated to the Wolf Prince by April L. Moon

Fated to the Wolf Prince Fated to the Wolf Prince by April L. Moon
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I've been wanting to read a shifter series for awhile and decided to try this one. And I'm so glad I did because I couldn't stop reading! Brielle and Kane are fantastic together and I loved all the tension and intensity that occurred between them!

Brielle is so strong in so many ways, but especially her thinking she's not a true wolf, but not letting that stop her from making a difference in her pack. I love that she thought she would leave unscathed from the pack in Alaska but instead bagged the biggest wolf available.

I also adore her friends Shay and Leigh. Such opposites but they are ride or die.

Kane is intense and possessive and I couldn't get enough of it. Seriously loved seeing him fall hard and fast for Brielle.

I got sucked into this novel so much that I just went and got book 2 to read because now I need to know what happens after that crazy ending!
