Review: The Boundless by Anna Bright

The Boundless The Boundless by Anna Bright
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from Edelweiss.  This is my honest review.

This book started a bit rocky for me because I was willing to overlook Selah's "I fall in love so easily" in book 1 since... well she was out being courted by suitors so of course she was bound to get some feelings.  Especially since she's only been interested in 1 guy her whole 18 years and she's being pursued with Bear and Torden.  But when she started catching feelings for Lang?  That's when I'm like, girl, you can't be in love with 3 guys who are all completely different.  Pick a guy and stick with it, stop being flighty.  So when that was going down, I was not impressed by this book at all.

Thankfully she straightened up and finally realized what she wanted for her future - WHO she wanted for her future.  And in my opinion, she picked correctly.  Lang is a jerk, plain and simple.  She said it well when she told him she wanted the person she loved to love her first.  Lang wasn't in love with anything, I honestly think he was just surviving hour by hour and not thinking about what he really wanted in life.  Bear was so long ago, a distant memory honestly.  Plus it looks like he's doing just fine without Selah around haha.  But Torden.  What they had was magical and they just clicked right away.  So, yes, she picked my Team and I'm very happy!

I thought it was very interesting storyline of Selah "defeating" Baba Yaga.  That whole world was messed up and every chapter revealed something I didn't think I needed to know.  But I'm glad that Selah wasn't the one to "take her down" because that's not the person she is.  She just came up with a plan that followed through for that I approve.  If she were to kill them or whanot, I would not have been a fan since that was not the person Selah is.

When Selah got home and she PUT DOWN Alessandra?  Loved!  Probably my favorite part.  She OWNED being the elect in charge and she demanded her voice to be heard in a professional way, and I loved that part so much.

I'm glad I decided to stick it through these two books and that I finally got around to reading them!
