Review: A Cosmic Kind of Love by Samantha Young

A Cosmic Kind of Love A Cosmic Kind of Love by Samantha Young
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and NetGalley.  This is my honest review.

I adore Samantha Young and was very excited to dive into this new novel of hers!  It was very original and unique - I can't say I've read a romance about an event planner and an astronaut before, so it was fresh, entertaining, and so much fun!

Chris is kinda floundering throughout this book, which is really a refreshing way to look at the main guy character.  I like that he is trying to figure out his life and what he wants, because that is how ALL OF US normal humans feel.  Or at least I do, to be honest.  To read about someone who is social media popular and still feeling that way really gets the reader to realize that everyone, no matter how much you  may see them on TV, may have their own small problems but it just not look like that to you since they are popular and beloved by so many.

And Hallie is a spitfire.  Being in the middle of your parents is terrible, and she had a long task ahead of her to get to where she needed to be internally.  I love that she met Chris because she was able to realize what she needed to do.  I'm not saying that Chris changed her, cause I would never vote for that lifestyle at all.  Chris showed her how he viewed her and she grew from that positivity.  She learned what she wanted in her life and she made so many hard, tough plunges.  She honestly is my hero because there are moments in my life that I wish I could be that bold and honest.

And things weren't always rainbow and sunshine between Chris and Hallie, and I ALSO appreciated that.  This book honestly was like reading about a normal relationship and a normal lifestyle in a normal world.  It didn't feel fiction, it felt like reading a story that could be about me...er, well if you take away a lot of factors.  But the FEELINGS is what I related to and why this book hit harder than a lot of books I've read.  I connected it to a deeper level.  Whether that just means I've been going through the same things Hallie and Chris go through, or if this can generate with a lot of other readers, I'm not sure, but I DO know that I loved this book because of all of the things I've listed above.

I'm so glad I got the chance to read this book and can't wait to add it to my physical library and ever growing shrine to Samantha Young!
