The Library of Lost Things by Laura Taylor NameyMy rating: 3 of 5 stars
This book has been on my tbr for forever so I'm glad I finally got around to reading it! I didn't realize how heavy this book was going to be though. The cover made it look cute and light, but there are a lot of serious situations packed in this book.
Darcy has lived in constant fear her whole life. Fear.she would be pulled away from her mother. Fear that people would find out her apartment was a giant hoarding place where her mother won't stop buying things. Fear they won't have enough money to pay the bills. Fear they will get evicted out of their home.
That is way too much fear and stress for a teenager. Darcy shouldn't have to worry about any of those adult things, but her mother isn't capable of being the parent.
I love how adorable Asher is in the bookstore and when he interacts with Darcy. Young, first love is so pure and adorable. Sure Asher has his own issues and made his own mistakes, but that memory of hope adorable he is so sturdy with me for some time.
Marisol is the bestest friend in the world. No seriously. They way she such with Darcy and helped her through all of this stress makes her the best best friend I've ever seen.
I'm glad i finally got around to reading this. It puts perspective on what is important and what is artificial when one really stops to think about life.
