Review: The Upside of Falling by Alex Light

The Upside of Falling The Upside of Falling by Alex Light
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This was a cute YA romance that I've been wanting to read for awhile now. It is fake dating which is always a hit or a miss for me, but thankfully I enjoyed this one.

Becca is extremely jaded about love because her dad walked out from her and her mom with no explanation and never once tried to talk to Becca. Then she finds out he started a whole new life just a few streets away from where she is living. I'd be jaded too if I were Becca.

Brett is the golden boy, with rich happy parents, plays football, and is overall the most popular boy in his school. But he feels like he's just going through the motions at times. Take his fake relationship with Becca - he did that to make his dad happy. Only Brett realizes his dad has made choices to destroy his happy, whole family. And the only real thing he has is his connection with Becca.

I loved seeing both characters grow into a better person of themselves. They had to make hard grown up choices and learn to let go of bad thoughts and emotions. I enjoyed this book and I'm glad I got around to reading it finally.
