Review: The Serpent and the Wolf by Rebecca Robinson

The Serpent and the Wolf The Serpent and the Wolf by Rebecca Robinson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was extremely surprised at how much I enjoyed this novel! And it being the authors debut novel too! I'm very excited to see what else will be released as I very much enjoyed the writing, story and characters.

Vassa is an amazing character. She survived in a world of serpents and you can tell by the way she is critical of everything, has a sharp mind, and is always alert. I'm sad she had to grow up that way, but she is an intense character that I really love meeting and seeing her adapt to this new world she's now living in.

Reid is fierce, protective, a warrior who never let's his guard down. But when he's around Vaasa, there's this playful side to him that I love seeing. He's extremely mindful of her after their first encounter but he's also waiting until the right moment to gage her reaction to new things. The two of them together really is the best pairing.

The ending was a jaw dropping cliffhanger. Thankfully I have an arc of book 2 so I'll be diving in, but i can honestly say this got me out of a book slump I've been in for awhile now. Definitely recommend!
