Review: On Wings of Blood by Briar Boleyn

On Wings of Blood On Wings of Blood by Briar Boleyn
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

This story dragged a bit too much for me. Medra is put in an impossible situation and becomes a pawn in EVERYONE'S story. She's used over and over again and the ones making the rules thinks it's okay because they found her first... Let's not expect anything different because she's a human though, right? She doesn't have her own rights...

Medra is also a bit too naive for me. She's in this world she doesn't know, has to follow these rules she doesn't understand, and she's not trying to learn everything she can to make sure she doesn't get trapped? Because let me tell you, she got ridiculously trapped and I'm sure she could have avoided it if she just did what one of her professors said and read the right books. Instead, Medra just started to do the homework assigned to get instead of doing extra work. And that's on her.

Blake is annoying. He said he had Medra's best interest at heart and he's helping her, which in truth he is, but the way he almost killed her at the end of the book? Show some restraint man. She wasn't even willing and then you almost eliminated her from your life... Also he acts like he's super important, but he cowers so much around EVERYONE else who's older than him because they are stronger than he is.... so that means he's not that important in the end.

The dragons are almost nonexistent in this book which was disappointing. The situation with her mom was just weird... so yeah this book wasn't for me. Glad I read it and glad I don't need to but the pretty book in stores.
