I was lucky enough to get this copy right after I finished book 1 so I dived in to see how everyone faired after that cliffhanger ending. 

I truly do love Vaasa and her strength. I also love Reid and his determination. I realized, though, that i love the two of these characters TOGETHER ratger than apart, which is what this whole book was basically centered around. So having to read through all the politics and planning and scheming... I became restless and somewhat bored through most of it. 

Plus Vaasa being used as a pawn by literally everyone in her life really got old after the 5th time. So safe to say book 1 was my favorite. I think i will enjoy the 3rd and last book when it's released based on how this book ended. I am very excited to see how it all concludes though.
