Review: Broken by Hannah McBride

Broken Broken by Hannah McBride
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author.  This is my honest review.

I seriously fell in love with Rhodes and Larkin in book 1, so getting their own novella story really made my day!!  And boy, this story did NOT disappoint!

Larkin has been trying so hard to move on from Rhodes, but she's just not having any luck.  When they both get stuck in a snowstorm and decide to wait it out together, her emotions run high and secrets are said, with nowhere to run away to.

Rhodes... Gah, Rhodes' story broke my heart and put it back together again.  His homelife is crappy, and his childhood was not the standard one for kids, so he's put a lot of pressure on himself and has a really bad outlook in life.  When he's forced to be in close quarters with the one person he doesn't want to ruin, he's not sure what to do.

Seriously?!  DO NOT READ THIS BOOK IN PUBLIC!! One, you will forget what you are supposed to be doing, and Two, people will wondering why you are blushing and breathing weirdly HAHA.  Also, don't read this book when you have plans soon after you start.  I started it when I was supposed to go to sleep to go to work in the morning, and sleep was no longer a necessity in my life because I devoured this book within 2 hours of not moving, because I needed to know everything that happened between these two characters.

I adored Remy and Skye in book 1, but I would not reject an entire series where it was Rhodes and Larkin's viewpoint.  I think these two may have surpassed my favorite characters in this series!

I loved how these two are there for each other, through the good times and the bad.  I love that they get each other, because they were friends way longer before they wanted to be more. And seeing them FINALLY talk to each other was the greatest thing.

I am so so so glad I was introduced to this series and that I got a chance to read this eARC.  This is a series I'm going to own in as many formats as I can, because it will be a story I will want to revisit over and over again.
