Review: Losing Control by Jen Frederick

Losing Control Losing Control by Jen Frederick
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Victoria, Tiny, has had a rough few years. After her mom got and beat cancer 3 years ago, Tiny has been trying to stay above water to make ends meet. And because she's dyslexic, finding a job she can manage hasn't been the easiest. Thankfully she found a job biking packages throughout the area, which requires very little reading and writing. But when her mom gets cancer again, she has to work for her stepbrother delivering...not so legal packages to places for extra money.

When she meets Ian Kerr, Tiny is stunned. The connection and attraction between them is undeniable and Tiny is very tempted to let him take care of her. But that is not her nature and she is always the one to take care of everything - especially since her mom got sick.

Ian is not a man to deny, however, as it only intrigues him more and makes him more determined to get what he wants. And right now he wants Tiny. Since he is rich - stinking rich - he is able to find a way to see and get to know Tiny by hiring her, because Tiny will not take presents of any kind.

The longer Tiny is with Ian, the more she knows her heart is going to break once he leaves her. But one thing she didn't see coming was how intense the connection is between the two of them, and what that could mean for her future...

This was a really good novel! I really admire Tiny and how determined and independent she is. She did not want to be flourished with lavish gifts without earning them, and that shows a very mature and reliable personality. And the way she took care of her mother? And found a job that she was able to execute without having to read or write? I seriously love her and I'm glad she finally got a break from a hard life when she met Ian. I don't know how she resisted him for so long, but that shows that she was really serious about how she wanted a relationship with him.

And Ian. He is an odd person. Has money coming out of his ears, and thinks that it will sway Tiny to his corner, but he has another thing coming. Ian is very serious and powerful, but to see him crumble at Tiny's feet is stunning. He has a vendetta that he needs to execute, but when it comes to Tiny, everything is on the backburner.

I'm so glad I got a chance to read this and I'm intrigued to see what book #2 will bring!
