Review: Shattered Ice by Monty Jay

Shattered Ice Shattered Ice by Monty Jay
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Wildfire Marketing Solutions. This is my honest review.

I have been intrigued about Kai for a very long time. Silent, brooding, mysterious. I would have never imagined the nightmare that was his past and how much he had overcome his demons. He thinks he's still a monster, but he has grown into an amazing man who just needed to find the person to accept and love him for who he is and not judge him for a past that was beyond his control.

Charlotte is quirky and unique. She doesn't let her protégé life define herself but she is on her own mission to find the life that she wants. But she's overcome with fear that she will get the same disease her mother has and I feel that she is stopping herself from really becoming who she really wants.

Seeing these two interact, getting to know each other, breaking down each other's walls... it's hopefully and real and intense. I don't think I've ever been so enamored with two characters as I was with these two. They are deep and intense, serious yet hopeful, and I honestly did not expect any of this when I started this book.

I've come to really appreciate and love the books in this series because it is not just a sports romance novel. These characters have a lot of suffering to overcome and that shows that anyone can be hurting at any given time, and it doesn't matter what they do or how they act, we are all just human.

I'm so glad I got the chance to discover this book this series and this author.
