Review: Can You Hear It by Casey Diam

Can You Hear It Can You Hear It by Casey Diam
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Wildfire Marketing Solutions. This is my honest review.

Falling in love with your high school sweetheart was not Averie's intention, but she was so in love with James. But when James dies in a football game, moving on is so inconceivable to get. The only thing she wants to do is numb the pain away.

In her senior year of high school, she transfers to the school on the other side of town. A new start, as her mother says. Averie is just trying to make it through the year and then leave to somewhere where no one will put her. She is definitely not looking for love, and ESPECIALLY  not looking at any football players.

...except she keeps running into, literally, Ashton, the schools quarterback. Ash seems distance, like he doesn't like her, even though they don't know each other. It wouldn't bother Averie, except she has this insane attraction toward him.

But Ash is hiding a secret, one he knows will have Averie running as fast as she can. And the longer they get to know each other, the thought of Averie not in his life breaks his heart.

This is one deep, hard core novel! And I loved it! This is my first book by Casey Diam and I love the writing so much. I may be doing some catch up to read past books :)

To go through what Averie has gone though is devastating. I don't blame her for trying to numb the pain. I'm so glad that Ash couldn't ignore her silent cry for help and helped her out of her bad habits.

And Ash... man he's gone through so much too. And him trying to ignore Averie because of his condition to save her from more pain? It was really selfless even though he's been crushing on her for years.

I was cheering these two on from the beginning and even though the road was a bit bumpy, with a lot of unexpected hiccups along the way, seeing these two open to each other, learning to trust each other with deep secrets, was so inspiring and so romantic.

I'm so so glad I got to read this novel and I'm definitely going to look into this author, and the other books in the series, after this!
