Moving On by Kate L. Mary
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I received this free eARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
So when I requested this book, I definitely didn't realize it was part of the College of Charleston series. I've read the first two novels in the series courtesy of NetGalley, and really didn't like either one of them. In fact, I couldn't even finish the second one.
But this book...I liked this book. It wasn't my all time favorite - Chris was pinning over "angelic" Annie too much for me to fall in love with this novel, but I didn't hate it.
So yeah, I like Chris. He's a great guy, just the person you want to date. Loyal. Dedicated. Smart. Hot. Passionate. Very much a good guy to date and marry. But he has his hang-ups. Especially about Annie and Ryan. I mean, dude, things happened. If she left you for your best friend, obviously it wasn't mean to be and you should just get over it.
But Bette. I love Bette. She is amazing. So her own person who doesn't give two shits about what others think and is willing to give up a "normal" life to see who her true self is. I want to be Bette when I grow up.
I think these two are so odd together that it makes sense they belong together. It was nice seeing their story fold out. I'm glad I didn't realize this was part of the series I had trouble with because I might not have requested it other wise.
I think this will be a hit with New Adult readers!
