Hell On Heels by Victoria Vane
My rating: 2 of 5 stars
I received this free eARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
Hmm. This book was something else. I really didn't like Monica - she was too stuffy and uptight for me to really like her as a character. She judged Ty right off the bat and didn't even give him a chance to give his side of the story, and for some reason she thought Ty was after her dad's money instead of what Ty told her and that Tom is more of a father figure to Ty than a business partner. So she was really too much of a bitch for me to really like her during any part of the novel.
And Ty is so biopolar that he doesn't know what he wants in life, let alone what he would want with Monica. Sure he had a crappy first marriage, but that doesn't mean that all marriages are like that one and he should give it another go if he thinks it will last. Live a little man!
Also, the writing is a bit stiff and awkward. The author goes from one viewpoint to another without any indication and it takes a bit to follow along at some points.
If I didn't get the second novel the same time as the first one, I wouldn't read it. But I'm going to give it another go and see if the story gets any better. One can hope, right?
If you are looking for a short, Southern novel set in Vegas about two complete opposites having no idea what to do with each other, this might be the novel for you!
