Review: When We Fall

When We Fall When We Fall by Marquita Valentine
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

I really liked this novel. When I first started reading it, I felt like I was missing part of the story and was about to go grab the first book, even though it was Rowan and Seth's story, but I kept reading and things started to click and make sense for Jase and Piper's story. Don't get me wrong, I probably would have had an easier transition if I read the first novel, but this can be read as a standalone (I think anyway!).

Piper is feisty. She has a shitty time growing up with her parents they way they are and I'm so glad that she finally grew a backbone and decided to live her own life instead of their vision of her life. And that takes guts because she didn't know the first thing about living on her own and taking care of herself, so I give her a huge applause!

And Jase. Gah, he's pretty awesome! He tried so very hard to resist Piper, but she wasn't having any of it and there is only so much a guy can do, especially when he is attracted to the girl perusing him. And he wanted only the best for her, which is so sweet.

So, yeah, I really enjoyed this book. So glad I got an eARC file to read, even though it's not so advanced by the time I got around to reading it. Might have to look into more novels by Marquita Valentine!
