The Hidden Twin by Adi Rule
My rating: 2 of 5 stars
I received this free eARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
When I read the description of this novel, I was intrigued. But from the first chapter, I felt a disconnection from not only the storyline, but also the characters. And I did read the whole novel, but I never once felt an attachment to anything regarding this novel.
I wish the author would have found a way to make the world she created a little bit easier to understand. I'm pretty good about diving into a new world and very easy to follow along, but I feel like the author just tossed us into this story without any initiation of information. Just, "here ya go, figure it out!" mantra which unfortunately did not work for me throughout any of the novel.
And Redwing, or Lin, or whatever her name was? I did not feel any emotion for her what so ever. She was just there as the character and things happened to her and suddenly she went from being the hidden, cursed twin to the one to save the day, but I didn't feel any excitement or happiness for her.
I dunno, something was missing and sadly I did not really enjoy this story. I mean, it was okay, but definitely not something I will revisit again. But looking at all of the other reviews on Goodreads, I'm one of the few who feel this way, so I'm sure that other readers will enjoy this story when it is released!
