Review: Snow Globe

Snow Globe Snow Globe by Jeanne Skartsiaris
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

This was a very engaging story that kept me on my toes throughout the whole novel. This is part contemporary/part paranormal book that I think will appeal to a wide range of readers.

I definitely feel for Aja (pronounced Asia). She has had the short stick her whole life and now everything is starting to crumble around her. She's in trouble with the authorities, though she didn't do anything wrong. She's in trouble with the school, but thankfully she has the guidance counselor rooting for her side. And she's having a crazy police officer stalking her and trying to get her in a compromising situation, but Aja has had enough terrible luck in her life.

I loved the story with Aja at the nursing home. She thought old people were gross and weak, but she quickly learned how wrong she was when she started working there and seeing the tenants. In fact, she was royally pissed when she got fired there because she wanted to visit with some of the old people she grew close to.

The whole story with Officer Clay is just plain creepy and scary. I was reading the suspenseful part that included him breaking into Aja's house right before I went to sleep and I couldn't fall asleep for the longest time whenever I heard a weird noise in my apartment.... That is something I don't even want to read about because it could definitely happen!

I really enjoyed this story. It had enough to keep readers wanting more, and the ending was fantastic. No cliffhangers and there is a great conclusion that leaves the reader imagining how life will go for Aja and the people she cares about!
