Review: The Bookworm Crush by Lisa Brown Roberts

The Bookworm Crush The Bookworm Crush by Lisa Brown Roberts
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this free eARC novel from Edelweiss. This is my honest review.

Amy is a shy, timid person who loves to read romance novels and run her book club. When it comes to books, and anyone who has the same love for books, she opens up and is a completely new person. But her personality is about to change, because she NEEDS to win this competition to meet her all time favorite author. And to do that, she needs confidence, swagger, and a lot of followers on social media. The best person who can teach her how to do all of that is her long-time crush, Toff. The friend of her friend, the almost brother to her best friend. The guy she's seen from afar, but never got the courage to talk to before. And she's determined to become a new person - maybe even brave enough to tell Toff her true feelings?

Toff is a big deal. He loves to surf, he's good at surfing, and everyone knows who he is. He wants to go professional and surf with the circuit, even though his dad wants him to go to college. When he catches Amy running from the cops, he's amused and when Amy asks for his help, he's game to play. What he doesn't expect is to like hanging out with bookworm Amy. She's fun, she's sassy when she lets loose, and she's easy to talk to. But Toff is afraid of commitment, so when reader fans think they are dating, he wants to pretend they are. Life is going well for him, he's liking this new friendship/relationship that he has, and he doesn't want to screw it up. But good things don't always last, and Toff needs to deal with some deep feelings about commitment and love before he can even THINK about being the best person for Amy...

I always adore books about fellow book lovers, and Amy is the true definition of a book lover - to the max. While I always like these novels, I seriously LOVED this one! There was just enough of book loving, adventures, romance, and humor, while also having some serious topics that need to be conquered in this book. I was so entrapped in this book that I didn't even realize how much I was smiling and laughing out loud until my boyfriend asked me what was so funny. The relationship between these two characters is sweet and cute and fun and overwhelming of feelings. Every book lover who has a book boyfriend will fall in love with these two - especially Toff because he is pretty amazing.

There are a lot of great messages in this book that can relate to a lot of readers, and I was no exception. This is a book that I'm keeping because I know that I will want to read it over and over again - that's how great this was.

I really can't explain in more detail why I like this novel. There were so many reasons, but I'm just stunned by how much I loved it, and I DEFINITELY will be recommending this book to other book lovers when it's released!

I am so, so glad I got a chance to read this novel, and I now need to find more books, past and future, of this author to devour them :)
